I can make a cake just fine but a box mix gives a finer texture and tenderness. I can't say if the mixes you got in the UK are the same as in America. To make the cake you add a cup of water, 3 eggs, and 1/3 cup oil. I'm too lazy to haul out the mixer so I use a hand whisk and mix if for at least 2 minutes. It's a lot of work! The most important part is to not bake it too long. 🍰 https://www.amazon.com/photos/shared/c7zLOENCS6iyzQLc4Ylphg.VuVc1FFLXUtE_0mP857lPo |

Tastes vary. The last pineapple upside-down cake I had, I took a shortcut and used a box cake mix. It was gagworthy sweet. I don't even know if I finished one piece. Luckily, it was a Jiffy mix, so it only made an 8x8 square cake. Cindy Hamilton |

Just the BS that a few key instigators were spreading. When I realized a week later I did have the posts I made that everybody was so intimately familiar with but nobody actually SAW including Christine who banned me), it was way too late. The people who saw it for what it was laughed it off and moved on. And the only people still following the thread just wanted to hear more dirt and feed off of each other toe cheese. My offer, "So who really wants to see it. You've already dug 10 feet deep, what's one more shovel full for treasure chest" You could hear the popcorn being thrown down on the floor as somebody mumbled "STFU" on the way out of the circus tent. A bunch of them just kept on walking and never came back. Good. |

There are other jobs even in times of war. Sending someone in to combat who is not able to handle it is a liability. During WWII there were many pacifists who offered themselves for other jobs, just as dangerous to themselves. One of my fathers friends offered his body in the rushed search for a med for malaria which was creating problems in Burma etc. Whatever it was they tested on him, did not work and he spent the rest of his life lying in a bed. My father would visit him when in the UK and felt he had served as well. In some ways he felt he had given more than those who went or died. |
