I, for one, choose to believe whoever is most credible and has the most
facts to back up allegations. Investigate and prove it in court (either
side, don't care which sex or what party you belong to). I want facts,
not unproven accusations flung about in the media.

Trump should stop bringing up Hunter Biden and screaming nepotism. He
has everyone in his family except for his youngest son (he's not old
enough yet) on the friggin' payroll.

Sorry, I'm a little angry. I don't find Trump to be at all credible
about anything. And despite what Gary and some others would like to
believe, I wasn't always a Democrat. I voted Republican for a long
time. I changed my mind *years* before Trump ever thought about running
for office.

My father was a die-hard Republican. I'm pretty darned sure he'd be
rolling in his grave if he could see the mockery this man has made of
the office.

He is a smooth talker. I will give him that. He just enacted a
ridiculous gun control regulation that bans a class of firearm basically
because they look nasty. There has never been a problem with "assault
rifles" in Canada, but he and his fellow Liberals have an issue with
them because of an incident that happened more than 30 years ago.
Firearms can only be legally owned by people who are licensed. We had a
mass shooting last year that involved a person who illegally acquired a
rifle, shot a cop, stole her hand gun and then killed a bunch more
people. We have young gang members running around shooting each other
on a weekly basis, all with illegal handguns, usually smuggled into the
country, but they keep coming up with excuses fro violent crime by
marginalized youth.

The same guy fired his Attorney General because she refused to pressure
an independent prosecutor to allow a DPA for a company that was being
prosecuted on corruption charges. She told him quite clearly that it is
improper to allow a DPA in that case, that it was improper for her to
pressure the independent prosecutor and improper for him to pressure
her. So he fired her. When she went public and there was so much proof
he could no longer deny it he finally admitted that he had done wrong
and said that he took full responsibility which, in his mind, appears to
mean he can no longer deny it so he will fess up but not face consequences.

Ahh... the old pseudo intellectual association of fire arms and penis
size. That ranks up there with the irony of people assuming that all
cops are racists.

Target shooting is a legitimate recreational activity. Hunting is a
legitimate recreational activity. The firearms banned can be used to
hunting and target shooting. There was absolutely no reason to ban them
and it was a knee jerk reaction to an incident that did not involve that
class of firearm. It affects only the "assault rifles" that are in the
hands of legally licensed gun owners, who have proven themselves to be
trustworthy, and it does absolutely nothing to deal the problem of hung
gang members running around shooting each other to protect their drug
business and the sense of street honour.

Carding worked well, but the people in the communities didn't like being
profiled. They eliminated carding and shootings immediately jumped 50%.
Maybe you can find a silly cartoon to try to explain that.

Look, Davey, m'boy, you're a right wing gun toting white guy. You've
always defended assault weapon ownership and praised butch-acting
cops. It is what you are. I assume you are a racist with a small

That is an interesting perspective you have on the people whoa re
committing gun crimes. Is there some reality that you are trying to
project on me while you remain in denial?

Could you do me a solid and describe what you mean by "assault weapon"?
Form, function, caliber, whatever you think will help me to understand
which weapons you are talking about.

And your response causes you to lose face and shows
just how biased you are. So you believe
women no matter what they claim? It must be true?
Every single claim?

I have no doubt that many claims are true but not so
many that we have seen in the past few years.
I suspect that many are also just vindictive women
finally going after revenge for being jilted.

Ever heard of "copy cat" crimes?

Maybe it's time for an "US TOO" rampage.
Men claiming how some women scorned have a life-long
issue and hatred after giving up their goodies
in hopes of a life-long relationship. Fair is fair right?

I didn't say everything needs to be stirred.

Soups made with dried beans need to be stirred occasionally
near the end of cooking time as they thicken. Otherwise
they settle on the bottom and can burn.
Crockpot eliminates that.

Crockpots are a no maintenence meal in a pot. Toss everything
in and forget about it until it's done many hours later.
You might not use one but no reason to put them down.
Extra appliances have their uses.

Interesting that you mention that episode.
I watched it late night only about 2 weeks ago.

It is like this...
If I make some pesto I can put anything from matchsticks to
watermelon and it will still be pesto. When I cut up a potato and fry
it in fat or oil then it is called hash browns, I can add those same
match sticks and watermelon and it is still hash browns.
It does get confusing when you put pesto on hashbrowns because
depending on what country and area of that country you are from, what
season it is and what time zone your are in along with where orion is
in the sky then it could be called either pesto or hashbrowns. Now if
you are in the southern hemisphere and the southern cross is in the
sky then it is called a hash brown pesto unless it is tuesday then it
is called a pesto hash brown. Dems da rules. I did not make the rules
I just enforce the rules. I am for all intents and purposes the
hasbrown and pesto police (unless of course it is tuesday)

Next time I make fries I'll have to post a pic.
I salt them then literally frost them with pepper.
I rarely use ketchup. The salt and mass quantities of
pepper is the taste I like.

One thing I've found and is interesting. You can definitely
add too much black pepper to some dishes and it turns
annoying too hot. Potatoes however are immune to a black
pepper overdose.

Listening to you two brag about your pepper consumption reminded me of a
guy were used to run into at a local breakfast. When his breakfast was
served were would pour more pepper onto his eggs than I would use in a
month. Then he would sit there with the pepper shaker in hand and
sprinkle a little more on each forkful of egg before he ate it.

Oh goody! Corelle! The unbreakable ones? Not a pattern I would know.
I like the name "blue onion". :)

My mother bought a set of the original Harvest Gold pattern unbreakable
Corelle when it first came out. She was fascinated by the claim they
wouldn't break. I'm not kidding, she literally threw a plate on the
kitchen floor to try to break it. Nope, didn't break, didn't crack.
She was thrilled! (Don't try this at home, when they do break they
shatter into tiny slivers.)

I honestly don't know why she was so thrilled. She wasn't in the habit
of dropping or breaking dishes. None of us were. I still have the full
set of Franciscan Ware she used for her every day dishes from the
1950's. Nary a broken plate, bowl, tea cup or serving platter. Dessert
Rose pattern. It was very popular at the time. I still use them
occasionally. :)

I have and still use a set of the Spring Blossom plus many
extras including 2 serving plates and 2 different serving bowls.
Also a newer basic set from the 1980's with a nicer pattern.
You are right about the almost indestructible but I have
broken a few (falling on floor) as they got older. Lots of
pent up energy in them and they do shatter into so many
shards. (They almost explode when they do break)

When I was married, that happened to my wife. Plate fell on
floor and shattered and the pieces cut her ankle very badly.
That ended dinner and we went to the emergency room where she
got a few stitches.

I also have a heavy set of plain white stoneware dishes, bowls,
etc but only use them now for company or holiday dinners.

It is kind of dumb to have so many things like this that
I rarely use.

I also have a very nice (and expensive) set of Oneida
stainless 5-piece place settings...2 forks, 2 spoons,
and a butter knife. The 5-piece settings cost about
$50 thirty years ago. Also rarely used and also dumb
to own them when so rarely used.

I just use cheap "silverware" now that I bought
from the grocery store many years ago. 20 pieces
for about $12 back then.

And yes, Sheldon, I could post pics of these if you
don't believe me.
