I used to have a fondness for fish sticks as a teen and young adult because I grew up eating them. The quality used to be so much better and they contained actual minced fish, not some sort of pressed fish in a crappy coating. These days I would never consider buying them. Jill |

These days, we don't need fish sticks any more cause we got McDonald's. |

My wife wants to go to the mainland just to see some bad weather i.e., snow. That's so weird - or is it? My guess is that we'll be seeing a lot of snow - and rain, and floods, and heat waves, and tornadoes, and hurricanes, in the coming year. Live it up while you can! |

I might like it too, but there's not enough time to get to know the whole world. Some people travel a lot but only to museums. I think if a person wants to really know a place he has to stay a while. Then he can move on, exploring other cities and countries, until finally he runs out of time and can't travel at all except in his dreams. I did a lot of free spirited traveling as a kid, hitch hiking and so forth. Sure, I didn't get to see other countries, but I think if a country is big enough with diverse terrain, etc., and even if it isn't, there is no real need to explore beyond it (especially if you don't like to fly)..................... A narrow view through an open mind |

Thanks for the info. I'll try your method for getting the right letter typed out. I also have had nicknames I didn't like from the start, even less as time goes by - but keep them same as you because why change? When I lived in Hollywood there was a guy who hung out at the laundromat downstairs from the poolroom. We called him Wash House Eddy. His name was Eddy. My name is Tommy, or any derivative thereof. But every time he'd see me he'd say, "What's up Mike?", and I'd correct him every time until one day I realized, "Ok, my name is Mike." Like an idiot it took me a long time to settle in with it. |

I am getting the lowest amount of social security available and I'm more than fine with it. The only negative, if it comes down to it, is that I can never again afford to rent a non public housing apartment, no way could I afford it. People are paying monthly rents higher than what I made per month when I worked. It's brutal. So I am lucky. But I deserve what I'm getting - and more if it comes my way. Thanks again. |

Even as an adult. But about 10 years ago I found it's easier - much easier - to find shorts that fit at the thrift store than long pants. The long pants might fit, but they may be tight against the knees. Shorts are easier to size. Also, if I see swimming trunks, mostly nylon which I love, I'll get them and cut out the webbing and use them as shorts. People see me wearing the long johns and ask if I'm not cold. Why should I be? Even cheap long johns hug the legs tighter and warmer than regular pants. It may look a little corny, but I'm a trend setter in corn. When I first got down here I never saw anybody wearing LJs under shorts in the winter. Now I see lots of people wearing them. Are they copying me? I doubt it, just a lot of younger people moving in from different places. |

LOL Pickled green beans are excellent, I add other veggies too, asparagus work mixed in too. All fresh raw veggies, whatever you like, carrot sticks, celery sticks, even raw onion rings. We always get tons of green beans, pickled uses them quickest... this is a no-cooking recipe. https://www.thespruceeats.com/pickled-green-beans-2217593 |
