For example, I like the prohibitions on smoking in public places. Cindy Hamilton |

Trash pick up twice a week indicates people there are lazy/slovenly... they won't collapse cartons or flatten cans. Those people are giving the trash companies a good excuse to raise prices. Here trash is picked up once a week and our bins are only half full or less, and we have their smallest bins... their two larger bins won't fit in the garage with both cars, only the largest families use those monster bins. We have more recyclables than trash. And we have lots of recyclables, many large cartons from mail order that I flatten and tape, and lots of empty pet food cans, also stomped flat and with the small cans inside the large cans... only takes a little extra effort to help keep costs down. Driving around I see many large cartons put out for pickup that haven't been broken down and flattened... and since they won't fit in the bin on windy days they sail everywhere. People don't even bother to remove their name and address. When I find one I deliver it to the rightful owner. |
