U.S. Janet B. <JB@nospam.com>: Mar 08 10:24AM -0700

Well, I got the large shells to make the stuffed shells Julie was
talking about.
I got the dried white beans to make Tert's beans and tomatoes.
I found mung bean sprouts at Winco to make Pad Thai
I'm sure that I bought something else to make something that was
talked about on this group.
Anyway, got my meals scheduled for the next week or so ;-)

Nope, definitely not! I would have to move back and join the 3 or 4
families who have moved here. Remember the Cape Breton welcomes you
website offering hands of friendship to Americans who wanted to leave,
there were a few but it did great things for attracting tourists, so
was win/win.

I stopped voting conservative after Preston Manning and his religious
right stepped in. They have still not reverted to Progressive cons,
had rather thought traitor MacKay might run for head honcho on that
score.

You may have, but the fact remains that our federal government has
bounced back and forth between a Conservative and Liberal governments
for over 100 years, one winning and the other as the Opposition, with
one exception where the NDP came in second place. When the PCs were not
far enough to the right the Reform party came along. They had hoped to
move the country further to the right, but what ended up happening was
that they split the right leaning vote between them and lost a lot of
seats to the Liberals who would otherwise have been second place.

In our last election there was a lot of people upset with Harper and the
Conservatives. The NDP had somehow pulled off a miracle under Jack
Layton, but he died and Mulcaire took over the party. He was no where
near as popular as Layton had been. The aim of many people was to do
whatever it would take to get rid of Harper and they viewed the Liberals
as the best bet. Similar to the official uniting of the right and centre
right that formed the Conservative party, the left and centre left
united behind the Liberals.

Why should I? I live just outside a very nice city of about
100,000 people. Property taxes are low; property values are
high. It's a 5-mile drive to my workplace and a 2.5 mile
drive to the grocery store.

It's hardly the only factor in risk of heart disease, is it?

It was well within the accepted level. My

What about any other risk factors in your lives, such as stress,
being overweight, having hypertension, high BMI, lack of excercise,
smoking, drinking ?

I freeze about 1 quart portions of concentrated stock. With it I make
5 1/2 - 6 quarts of soup every week or so. That's 2 main meals and a
lunch for us. We don't eat much anymore. When I make soup (many
different kinds) there are always a lot of vegetables in the soup and
possibly a small bit of meat. i.e., chicken soup, beef barley soup,
minestrone, etc. I feel that keeps us nutritionally sound.

Okay, home with my scallops now - they were about C$50.00 per Kg but
they are fresh, never frozen. So I had the fishmonger bag about $12
worth, enough for a feed for supper with some salad on the side.

I rarely eat fries, usually only if I am at my favourite pub and
decide to have fish and chips.

In the US, MSG is derived from corn, not wheat. I think he's confusing
"glutamate" and "gluten".

Thanks. I see what it is now and likely I will be dropped, years ago
we had two nauseauous people arrive in our local group, so I set up a
private group until we felt they had lost interest and moved on. So
it has now been inactive for several years :)
