Six boiled eggs chopped small or chunky; your personal preference. For 6 eggs I use about 3/4 of an 8-ounce block cream cheese* and about the same amount of mayonnaise and 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Mix all together and add more mayo if it seems a bit too thick. Best if refrigerated until chilled but hard to resist when just made. *Cream cheese should s.o.f.t or it will never mix thoroughly. Best if cream cheese is unwrapped, placed in a bowl, covered, and left to soften overnight. A split and lightly toasted English muffin with the merest smear of butter is heavenly. |

Also I wanted to ask do you think there would be any big difference if I just used egg whites? -- ____/~~~sine qua non~~~\____ |
| dsi1 <dsi123@hawaiiantel.net>: Mar 22 02:46PM -0700 > Thank you please come again.... > -- > ____/~~~sine qua non~~~\____ My recipe is simplicity itself - don't overcook the eggs all to hell and use Japan mayo. The egg salad should be very light and have a custard-like mouth feel. It is possible to make a sublime egg salad but it requires a meticulous mind and attention to detail. https://assets3.thrillist.com/v1/image/2809716/size/gn-gift_guide_variable_c_2x.jpg |

No, no need nor desire to try either one. > or if you want to use the cream cheese may I suggest nuking it for > about 30 seconds and then whipping it up with a fork or whatever to > make a whipped cream cheese. I have no problem setting my cream cheese out to soften overnight and really don't want to use the microwave to soften it. The only time I whip cream cheese is when I've taken a block out of the freezer. When it thaws it definitely needs to be whipped with a mixer to combine. > Also I wanted to ask do you think there would be any big difference if > I just used egg whites? Honestly, I wouldn't bother. There is no flavor in the egg whites and why would you even consider making 'egg salad' with just the whites? |

Actually the Kootch should be embarrassed, very embarrassed. for everyone to know he can't come close to affording to live in that hovel without strangers paying him to use it as a flop house. Many years ago I lived in a downtown San Diego hotel room while working for Hughs aircraft company... cost $2 per day or $12 per week. There was a sink in the room but had to use the terlit down the hall. No biggie, Hughs had a very nice toilet in their factory, showers with plenty of hot water, even supplied very nice towels, and imported milled bar soap. Between the hotel and the aircraft factory I lived very well, and great food in San Diego. Plus we'd get together for a quick drive to Tiajuna each weekend for good haircuts and fine home cooked food for cheap. |

A horrified reaction to such expressions of cruelty merely affirms the importance of being cruel. If the municipality gives you certain size bins and collects every week, why would you want to keep the bins back until they are filled (months later) with rotting and smelly stuff? I can fill the recycle and the compost but there is no way I can fill the trash. But I put them out anyway because I am getting charged whether they are full or not. |
