Perhaps just buy cheap sugar-free KoolAid packets. Sprinkle some
of that powder right into her Ninja along with ice cubes and turn
to slush?

Isn't peach jello orange?

Artificial fruit flavors never taste anything like their tree-grown
counterparts. Peach, I think, is one of the few exceptions. I'm
pretty sure with other flavors you could change the color of them
and 9 out of 10 people would be able to guess the flavor: Green
cherry jello, pink lime jello, purple apple jello.

I haven't made jello in so long I didn't even know you were supposed
to cook it.

It's been 40 years for me too. And it won't happen ever again. I
can't eat jello or bananas. My throat doesn't like swallowing
things with that texture - Get the gag reflex feeling. I like
durian and puddings, but can't swallow those either. Custards and
dessert mouses are borderline.

Sorry to barge in. It's not "cooking". You have to boil some water.
Then stir the Jell-O powder into it. Then pour it into a bowl or a mold
and add cold water (ice cubes if you want a quick set) then put it in
the refrigerator. If you want to add fruit, you do it before you put it
in the fridge.

I have never added fruit to Jell-O but I've certainly heard about it
here over the years. Also from having some very old "dessert" cookbooks
which often mention the use of fruit in Jell-O.

I'd rather just eat fruit than suspend it in a gelatin concoction.

You just fell off your throne Jill. How could you not like fruit in
Jell-O? While I rarely have Jell-O these days,I used to love it with
fruit in it. Red Jell-O with sliced bananas and fruit salad were
favourites. I will confess to having also enjoyed those Jell-O salads
with stuff like grated carrot, shredded cabbage and finely chopped
cucumber.

Technically it is not cooking, but it is the first thing, as kids, that
we made in the kitchen. Fruit cocktail, bananas, peaches were typical
variations. Next would be heating milk and pouring in a package of
pudding.

I remember eating a molded Jell-O salad back in the 70's that had I believe
cottage cheese in it. I could be completely wrong but it was fantastic and
I've neve been able to find the recipe. That's why I think I could be
wrong on the ingredients.

I used to date a girl who had an older sister who was such a bad cook
that she could not make Jell-O. One cup of boiling water and then one
cup of cold water. It couldn't be much easier, but she found a way....
two cups of warm water.

Lucky for her she had a boyfriend who was as stupid as she was. They
went out snowmobiling and went through thin ice..... twice.

When I was a kid my parents were friends with an elderly couple who had
a great fruit and vegetable garden and she used to make jelly desserts
with gelatin and pureed fresh fruits. They were delicious. They had
distinct fruit flavours. The raspberry tasted like raspberry, strawberry
like strawberry and cherry like cherry, not just slightly different
flavours of red jello that don't really taste like the fruit they are
labelled to be.

You're not wrong. They were good. I googled jello salad with cottage
cheese and several recipes came up. I added carrot to the search and
more savory salads came up.

And another thing!!
Just returned from a 40k bike ride. On our pathway system we share with
pedestrians but in high use areas the paths are twinned - one for peds
and one for cysclists.
Fucking runners and lazy walkers think it's ok to use the bike lane. Woe
betide if a cyclist strays onto the ped path.

It was just on the news here this morning. Florida has the highest
number of bicycle deaths in the country with 16% of them.

Common causes were dark clothing at nigh, disregard of traffic signs,
straying from bike lanes.

From the news:
A new study found Florida leads the country in bicycle deaths in 2017.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration data shows 783
cyclists were killed in the U.S. in 2017, including 125 in Florida.

In 2016, some 852 cyclists were killed in the U.S. That includes 138
people who died in Florida.

The figures found about 2 percent of deaths in crashes are bicyclists.

The data shows that although child bicyclist deaths have declined over
the years, deaths among bicyclists age 20 and older have tripled since 1975.

Of course. The worst I see are the inline skaters. They swing back and
forth across the lanes. Then they have the ear buds in so they can
remain blissfully unaware of cyclists trying to pass.

We have a leash free dog park about two miles from here and it is
divided into two separate areas, one for big dogs and one for small
dogs. There have been a number of conflicts when people with big dogs
come into the small dog area. That is against the rules and there is
going to be a horrible disaster if a big dog runs into a little one or
gets into a fight with it. However, if there are no small dogs in the
park, the owners will bring their rodent sized mutts int the big dog
side so they will have someone to play with.

There have been times when some of us were in the small dog side because
of mud. When someone showed up with her small dogs we started moving
over to the other side, but she was bitching and moaning about us being
there. According to her, we should not be there even if there are no
small dogs using it.... as if it could make any difference to her if she
is not there.

Ditto here. The only bill we get is when it's time to renew. We
don't get CoPay bills for drugs, they are automatically billed to...
our credit cards. We like United Health Care... and Optum Rx is very
good... excellent service and speedy. shipping is free and usually
arrives within 2-3 days. That magazine keeps us informed on the
latest in health care benefits., too bad the illiterate consider it
junk mail. Often how the MD writes your Rx determines cost, and some
may be free. Some drugs are considered maintenence drugs, they are
free because they keep people out of the ER... my albuterol neb
solution is free because my doctor includes a form with each 3 month
renewal, a savings of about $50/mo. Also a good MD knows which OTC
brand name meds have a generic Rx version, more savings for the
patient. Most allergy OTC neds have a generic Rx version, same for
acid reflux/heartburn; Omaprozole takes the place of Nexium and the
like, a lot less money. Also for OTC meds check Amazon. they sell
them in hospital size bulk for 1/3 the drug store price; Mucinex 12
hour tablets; 500/$200... buy them in 20 packs and see what they
cost.... save the receipts and take them off your income tax... the
IRS allows deductions for OTC meds for certain illnesses backed up
with your Rx drugs.

I don't even get a bill to renew, it's set up to be deducted from my checking
account each month. I just have to remember to post it in my check register.

Those are automatically deducted from my checking account each times I order
medications.

I don't receive the magazine.

If you take an OTC medication for reflux/heartburn check out eBay. Sellers
are a LOT cheaper than the drugstores. I've been getting an OTC Prilosec
for y.e.a.r.s from India. Six hundred capsules for less than $25.

Then you'd be wrong. This was my hematologist. The reason she gave was that
exercise will not make you lose weight. I skimmed right over that and said
that I was getting older and wanted to maintain muscle mass. This Dr. also
claimed that I had a lump in my armpit but added that it might just be a
muscle or tendon. I told her it may well be because I exercise a lot. That's
when she told me not to do it.

She's young and seems to care more about emotional things than anything
else. She was upset that I was not upset over the lump. I wasn't upset
because there was no lump! I have no clue what she thought she felt but I
can tell you that it was a big waste of a lot of people's time to do the
emergency mammogram and ultrasound.

My Endo told me to stop some years back as it was raising my blood sugar and
I never got the drop that is supposed to happen. It just kept going up. For
whatever reason, that is no longer happening. I am not a person who likes to
sit around all day. Just makes it hard being disabled. I have to be careful
what I do and pace myself.

Exactly! I yo-yo dieted for years and years, then I finally learned how to

Sorry you're having this carpal tunnel problem. I've never had that
