Nothing wrong with veterans. Everything wrong with politicians who
tell veterans what to do.

I think that these days, everybody agrees that the Vietnam war was a
criminal, useless waste of Asian and American lives. Responsible
politicians should be hung posthumously.

Why go through the bother of reducing it? Just change the recipe for the
original kool-aid to whatever sugar concentration you want.

The best slushie I ever had was a can of coke poured into an oversize mug
(about 2 can volumes) of packed fresh snow. Not sticky 0C snow, -20C powder
snow.

Before freezing they can be used as a syrup on shaved ice.
I really don't like those slushy/slurpy things they serve at 7-11,
their flavors are not much different from medicinal Kool-Aid.
My favorite frozen confections are creamsicles and fudgesicles, or
Italian ices; Lemon, Cherry, Orange, Chocolate, all good.

Shaved ice results something not like a Slurpee. The consistency is
very different Slurpees have to be held at a certain temperature
and kept moving so the little balls of ice of ice don't solidify or
melt. The sugar content is also higher than your standard HFCS 55%
fructose, IIRC. Colder drinks need to be sweeter and the higher
fructose content acts as an antifreeze.

What you need to buy is a margarita machine :-) They're electric,
so maybe John will buy you one and make you climate zoologist, too.

As for syrups, the restaurant supply stores sell flavored HFCS. As
well as most of the coffee shops and World Market. They're all just
pre-mixed Kool-Aid with better artificial flavoring (I recently
spent 6 months sampling a bunch of 15 year packages of Kool-Aid and
Flavor-Aide - they all suck except for Wild Cherry).

Look for Zergut fruit syrup concentrates - about $5-$7/liter at high
end grocers and mega-liquor stores. About one part syrup to 4 parts
water/ice/slushie (by weight).

The problem with fruit juices is they need to be concentrated so
they don't get watered down by the ice. You need concentrates. You
can get orange, apple, grapefruit, lemon/lime, and pineapple at
grocery stores but stay away from the those Bacardi mixers.

I'm thinking that I saw the syrups for icees and so forth at Cash and
Carry. I'll go check it out soon.

No they can't. You're watering it down to half it's intended
strength.

Yes, but my circle always called it frozen eye which I think is more
to the point. Don't you get that awful pain right over your eye when
indulge in frozen treats?

I overheared my Father and the village butcher criticising that foreign
muck, i.e. curry as they were slathering hot English mustard over fine
roast beef.

I did ask the local reddit if anybody wants to go in with me on a

online and have it delivered.

I went to Japanese school when I was a tad, and took Spanish in intermediate school, then I took more Japanese when I went to college. The only thing I remember was that I took Japanese dos times and Spanish uno.

OTOH, the Spanish teacher sung "La Malaguena Salerosa" on the first day of class - perfectly, while playing the guitar. That's not an easy song to pull off. That pretty much made it all worthwhile.

Since I see multiple ticketable offences over a 2km strip of freeway
that I regularly take, 8 the other morning, motorists are equally bad.
This is all anecdotal and we can't argue without our prejudices showing
until a proper survey is done.

And I live next to a favourite circuit for charity walkathons. Rules
don't apply to those pedestrians either.

I had no choice. I was given Latin for two years. Spanish would have
been my choice and useful over the years. My grades were too good for
either French or Spanish.
