Hee hee! I LOVE stopping my electric mower almost instantaneously to tell people it's my outdoor food processor WITH A CORD so as long as I pay my electric bill it runs great!! And then I resume mowing! Again almost instantaneously! :-)

And then they think! Many think "Wow! That mower just started right back UP! With NO PULL CORD! And does NOT STINK!"

It's amazing how it draws the goodness out of people when you treat them with kindness and respect! I've seen it happen many times!

Back in my many lawn mowing days, the one thing that I really
hated was walking behind and constantly breathing the motor
exhaust. Not fun to do.

I've never seen small Bay scallops you could a put skewer through,
they are just tiny rubbish. The most I might use them for is chowder,
along with plenty of haddock and other fish.

They are often treated with a phosphate solution that can increase the
weight by 15%. You can get sea scallops that are "dry pack" thaat have
not been soaked.

Wait for a hot humid summer day and try a gin and tonic in a nice tall
glass with lots of ice and a slice of lime.

That was the sound track in the opening scene of Easy Rider, one of the
great movies of the decade.

It's only June 8 today. There will be plenty of hot and humid
summer days in the next 2-3 months. Arrghh@

Funny as I've thought to say the same thing for months now. Only
J you forgot was another RFC victim/target. She also gets bullied
by many of the same bully J's. lol

True. Big-name stars make a lot more than all of the "little people"
who make the magic possible.

I have to admit that canned tuna can be pretty strong smelling. I don't
really notice it myself when I open up a can and use it, but I
definitely notice it it my wife has opened a can and I walk into the
kitchen.

For every big name star there are probably thousands of actors waiting
tables and doing odd jobs, all dreaming of the big break that will bring
them wealth and fame. There are a number of actors in my wife's family
and most have pretty well given it up, even after having had a good run
at it. The most successful of them all is SiL's ex who has been working
at steadily for close to 50 years now and he is still going strong.

that's what I have and what I do. I don't have to buy a battery or a
new strap, just a new watch. I'm thinking of having two of them with
one set for standard time and one for daylight saving time.

I think the time change should be eliminated completely. Next
time change, change it just 1/2 hour then let it be forever. That
varying half hour really wouldn't make any signifiant difference
in real life.

Hi O. I already posted it. Did you miss it? If so, I'll repost it
for you. It's nothing special though. I think it got it's bad rep
many years ago with poor people making it often. (a cheap meal)
Once every several years is good though.

Heck, here it is again:
------------------------------------------------------
No specific recipe, I just winged it from memory way back.

- partial package of egg noodles, cooked and drained.

- in a large bowl, I combined:
- 1/2 chopped onion
- 2 cans of tuna (drained)
- yes, a can of cream of mushroom soup :)
- 1 tbs flour
- 1 egg
- 2/3 cup milk
- 1 small (8.5oz) can of peas
- one ounce very sharp cheddar (leftovers)
- add in the egg noodles then top with -
- 3 oz mild cheddar cheese
- 2 oz parmesian cheese (dried kind)
- a handfull of bread crumbs.

(I think that covers it all)

All in a casserole dish and cooked at 425 for about 40 minutes.

It turned out quite well.

Not something to die for but I'm enjoying it. I will make this
again but probably a few years down the road. Just a good
occasional meal.

In addition to basil, I've got chives, nasturtiums, spearmint and
parsley. Nasturtiums do double duty, being pretty and having
edible flowers.

The garlic will be ready to harvest in a few weeks. I planted it last
fall for June/July harvest.

Time for fattoush soon.

They've been offered in seed catalogs for a number of years.
I've read that they attract all kinds of insects not just bees.
Especially wasps. That other insects will enter and eat any
developing bees. That the hotels must be cleaned annually and
replaced every 2 years to avoid disease. I've read they must have an
overhanging roof and placed facing south (I think)

I was going to get a hotel and after reading about them decided not. I
already have too many wasps.

They are new to me:)) I want to get just a few I think:)) I guess I will
get instructions on how to care for them:))

Yes, I suppose other insects will try to eat them as will happen anyway,
but at least might give them chance:)

I am very interested to hear how Terry (as a beekeeper) sees them.

After reading the RFC responses and googling for "best canned tuna",
will be searching the local grocerers for Wild Planet, Safe-Catch and
BumbleBee tuna. Get the feeling it won't be inexpensive for only 5 oz.

Living far from an ocean, the only unfrozen fishes we get are fresh
water. Not quite the same flavor profile as salt water, but
approximately the same cost as less expensive (previously) frozen salt
water fishes.
