LOL, sorry, dinner tonight was sashimi tuna (Yellowfin Ahi) with rice
and sauteed green beans and mushrooms. Dip was my favorite of soy,
worstershire, and a hint of wasabi powder (actually horseradish powder
but I like to sound fancy). Just to prove how impure I can be, I
buttered the rice ;-)

He's got some issues for sure, but the witch hunt for impeachment is
absolutely insane.

And that's what we had for dinner . Actually this is the second time
I've made this recipe (https://pinchofyum.com/lo-mein) first try was
with beef and fettucini for the noodles , this time it was linguine and
shrimp . It was pretty good both times , better the second try . I only
have regular soy sauce and it calls for some dark , which will be
arriving in a few days - not available locally so I had to order it
online . It's supposed to be even tastier with the dark soy , I
kinnardly wait ! We have a real fondness for good lo mein , and there's
nowhere near here that has it . I'll probably never match our favorite
Chinese food place , but I'm getting close !

Yes, just like *here* it doesn't make sense for the Dollar Store types
to have coolers for milk and such.

I would too! Makes complete sense where you are. 7-11 and similar
here also have eggs and milk. A bit pricey but not too far off the
normal for the area. We've done that at times whe I needed a cup or so
of milk for a recipe.

And Greeg Morrow decides yet again the only way to get a reply, is to
mimic a real person yet again. Comment from Greg above, at least was
polite.

We aren't big on ice cream here but the few times we do it, we make our
own in a little ice cream maker I got. It's fun to do and makes it
a'special treat' we can savor.

I don't bother to track every post Morrow fakes. He's just a sad loser
but unfortunately many can't see headers so are unaware he is playing
games. I don't know if Jill sees them or not but above, he seems to be
making a sane 'Jill, I did not write that post' when I DID write that
post.

On the other previous posts, I did read them back when they were
posted. They were just normal conversation until you snipped and tried
to make them look like something else. It's your snipping that caused
an issue, not any individual post she made.

If you want me to reload so I can languish over your every word, you
are talking to the wrong person. I suggest you just let this thread
die.

I have a similar hearing loss, and I prefer a woman with a high pitch.

Women's voices are harder to understand than men's voices if one has a hearing loss. Mostly you'll have a hard time hearing women's voices if you've lost some hearing from around 1000 to 2000 Hz and above. I can't hear a thing above 12,000 Hz. That's probably fairly common in people 65 and older.

I think it happened long before I was 65. I was in the reserves in my
late teens and trained as a weapons technician. I spent a lot of time
on the shooting range in the days when no one wore hearing protection.
When I was at university I had a summer job for two years in the furnace
room of an alloy smelting plant where there were a number of arc
furnaces running on 25 cycle electricity, and then and then a dozen
years as an equipment operator. I lost the high and low ends of hearing
perception decades ago.

Very similar looking to mine.

There is a big difference between the poor, and the truly needy.

Yes, it is. Good parents help too, they pushed us to do well in school.
It is harder for minorities but not impossible. Of the millionaires
in the US, 24% are minorities.

We cannot choose our parents and that can be a factor in your future,
but all the other choices I made were available to everyone else. You
have to show up though.

Which minorities is it harder for? A lot of people assume that racism is
the reason that some groups are at the bottom of the socio-economic
ladder. It should be noted that whites are not at the top in the US.
That spot goes to Indians, or in the PC term, south Asians. Then there
are the east Asians... Chinese, followed by whites, middle easterns,
Hawaiians, Blacks and native Americans. It is pretty much the same in
Canada. While a lot of people seem to like to assume that the issue is
white racism by white people, there are two visible minority groups who
tend to do better financially than whites. Blacks and native people tend
to be at the bottom in both countries, but it is not as if the really
racist element has the power to control the income of the minorities, or
that the racists really differentiate between the non white objects of
their racist scorn. Maybe it has a lot to do with buying onto the
system that generates wealth.

Japanese ramen noodles uses no eggs. What it does use is alkaline water. Hawaiian saimin does use eggs because it's based on Chinese noodles. Saimin, however, uses a soup that's very Japanese. Noodles are some pretty confusing stuff. OTOH, it's all a dough that's boiled instead of baked.
