You're undoubtedly right, but you're also making things complicated.
Sheldon doesn't do complicated.

Frankfurters are mystery meat? You eat that?

I thought Popeye grinds his own meat ... he has the finest meat
grinder in the galaxy. Makes his own saw-seege too!

Two ladies backing each other up with clueless comments. Neither
of you
seem to have the ability of reading backwards in a thread.

Nice that this made you both feel good.

Posting full headers twice. What does that do for you?
I'm ashamed to call you a VaBeachian. In those full headers,
learn to read back in threads. You don't seem to have a clue
about the previous posts.

Popeye does like *some* brown people ... 100% mayan mexicans.

So, he's not 100% racist.

You still feeling ok, Sheldon? Not queasy or anything?

They may be the richest nation in the world, but the money's rather
unevenly divided. Take two wrong turns and you're in the 3rd world, or
so I was told by friends who went to New York. Unbridled capitalism
you know :)

The cutting off of water is even denied by Americans in this thread,
so why can't this be news to non-Americans?

There will be a few people who have such bad plumbing problems that
they can't afford to fix them, but I doubt that number would change
the statistics much.

Capitalism is the astounding belief that the wickedest
of men will do the wickedest of things for the greatest
good of everyone. - John Maynard Keynes

I'm proposing we adopt the Vulcan salute and "Nanu Nanu" instead of
handshakes for in person greeting and salutations.

Not here. Uber Eats and the other delivery services are killing it.
The majority of these young, overpaid yuppies are still eating
overpriced restaurant food 2X a day.

Especially if you knew how store bought pasta is handled. It's not
even good enough for landfill. Way too dangerous!

I have 3 brand new n95 masks, kept clean in plastic bag
for years. Don't think they will save you though. They are
nothing but glorified dust masks. Never intended to filter
the much smaller virus kids.

The point is not to filter viruses. It's to filter drops of
snot and spit.

And why do we want to filter drops of snot and spit?

Because they contain viruses. Gary seems to think a mask is useless
unless it filters virus-sized particles (120 nm), where in reality a mask
that filters spit droplets (mainly >75 μm) will do the job nicely.

What if you vote for the person who ends up coming second? Is that
also a wasted vote?
What if you vote for the winner, but they'd also have won without your
vote? Is that also a wasted vote?

When is your vote not wasted?

Men like a woman with a high voice. OTOH, a woman with a low voice stands to make a lot more money than one with a regular voice.

The 2009 swine flu was a big pandemic, although the number of deaths
was similar to regular influenza:

Still, 11 to 21 of the word population got it.
