I don't know the answer to either one as I don't buy anything by the kilo.
Plus I haven't bought cashews in at least a year and it was a very small
container.

I haven't bought anything by the square foot since I can't remember.

Hah! That applies to all of us. And I'm not talking about the serious
illness that gets tribute daily by mass-media gloomsters.

Yesterday, I thought I was doing *okay* with the indefinite house arrest,
sitting in my back yard with my dog listening to the radio. I also took
the opportunity to make some room in my liquor cabinet by emptying a few
almost-finished bottles.

This AM, I peeled a blood-engorged tick from a little itch on my back.

After a shower, I called 811 (Non-Emergency Medical Assistance) and the
Nurse said not to worry, because thus far there have been no confirmed
cases of Lyme disease in my area. Despite that, she asked that I put the
tick in my fridge and keep an eye out for any rash that develops during
the next few weeks. If I get one (or fever / headache / fatigue /
vomiting / muscle pain), I'm to visit my doctor and bring the tick.

So, I decided to read:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tick-borne_disease

You can see they are trying to hide it, way down at the end after
'Protozoan' and 'Toxin', under innocuous-sounding 'Allergies':

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alpha-gal_allergy

The most insidious of all possible diseases, a threat to the core values
us 'normal' men & women hold dear. It makes one allergic to red meat.

It's a cover-up for sure. How else to explain Para 3 Sentence 4?

"However, as doctors are not required to report the number of patients
with alpha-gal allergy, the true number of affected individuals is
unknown".

NOT REQUIRED TO REPORT !!!!! What are they thinking?

Well, I'm just not going to sit around waiting to become a carnivore
trapped in a lacto-pesco-pollo-vegetarian body! In fact, I am now
planning to bring my dog outside and fire up the BBQ while I still feel
to do so.

Good for you!! Enjoy and I hope you stay well!

You're not quite offline yet. My guess is that your best bet is to get off of broadband and switch to dial-up.

My daughter took a test online for her veterinary class. She was having trouble moving over from the video conferencing app on to the test section. After a while, her teacher texted her and told her to turn off her microphone because she was swearing up a storm.

Evidently, this turning off the mic problem happens frequently. My son was taking a video conferencing class and the whole class got treated to the teacher's rant at a drugstore that messed up her order for hydroxychloroquine, which she takes to treat crohn's disease. One of the students spoke up and informed her of the situation. That guy should get an "A" for the class.

I don't "run to the store for lettuce often". A regular weekly
grocery trip takes care of my needs.

Yeah, I just saw that on the local news this morning.

It's all about money too, not being "nice" to people.
Memorial Weekend is one of the biggest tourist weekends
of the year.
One of the biggest "profit" weekends for the
tourist industry here (hotels, gift shops, restaurants)

I'm sure those business owners *demanded* for the beach
to be reopened.

Good luck to them all. I won't be down there in the crowds.
I'll stay home safely and continue to annoy the RFC crowd.

We logged over 500 miles in the SUV today , buried my wife's mother
at about the midpoint . No cooking content other than to note that I
don't know where the Church Ladies that fed us after the graveside
service (very brief and family only) got that fried chicken but it's the
best I've had in a while .

I believe that you'd be an enthusiastic, careful, worker. What I can't stand is people that spend their time speaking ill of other co-workers. These people are vicious gossips spreading rumors, lies, and resentments, in the workplace. Mostly, these people are lazy, play the system, and enjoy setting up people against other people. They are workplace poison.
