With the exception of a few contractors that might have to start
with a lot of material, best to never pay in advance.
Pay after the work is already done, even if on a weekly
basis. Pay for the week completed, not for next week too.

If you "keep them hungry" they'll be sure to get back soon
to earn more.

When I was in business, I often got paid well in advance when
a customer was going out of town. I never cashed that check
until I had earned that money. Usually a week or two later.

Then you haven't been payin' attention ! I talk about him quite often
, he's quite a dog . It's a continuous test of who's the boss , Mountain
Curs are known to be quite headstrong . Very active breed , and he likes
to play rough sometimes . He likes to chase rabbits and will run deer if
I let him - and he absolutely hates armadillos , he'll kill one if he
can catch it . As long as Max is by my side , there's nothing in the
woods I'm afraid of ... these guys were originally bred by early
Appalachian settlers from European cur stock crossed with the dogs the
Indians had , and one of their main jobs was to guard the family and
livestock . I believe he'd tackle a bear if he thought it was a threat .

I sure don't care about wrinkles on sheets.
I quit folding sheets over a century ago. What a waste of time.
Once dry, I just ball them up and put away. Once stretched
out on the bed they go away or get covered up.

I dated a nice girl once. On the date and during conversation,
she mentioned that she changes her sheets every single morning.

That was our first and only date. I knew that relationship
would never work. ;-D

I use lemon scented soap for dishes. I like that.

For laundry I use unscented soap with just a nip of
plain bleach. I like the faint bleach smell. Never a
nasty perfumed dryer sheet or fabric softener though.

Sorry, but I don't want clothes and sheets hanging all over my house.
When I rented apartments one of the first things I insisted on was a
washer & dryer or at least W&D hookups. No shared laundry rooms with
other tenants. No hanging clothes all over the house.

Funny one, Janet. I guess that's a good scare tactic with
no harm to the little ones. Problem is that even if they
freak out and run, they'll run short and come back again
a few minutes later.

My father visited the US once, for some work reason.

A hotel employee: "How do you like the US, sir?"
My father: "Americans are very gay."

Yoose Hawaiians should have stopped all people from entering
Hawaii months ago.

Yoose ppl actually should have done that over 2 hundred years
ago in Captain Cook's days. Those europeans brought many
diseases that wiped out quite a few Hawaiians even back then.

The ferrets loved me and I loved them. They don't wear
makeup or perfume. Neither do I.

I wouldn't be surprised if you wear some "manly" perfume.

My 2 extremes are no makeup vs too much makeup.
Too much is not about prostitutes, just too much makeup.
As always, there are many steps inbetween the two
extremes.

I don't think black and white. Many shades of gray too.

I looked it up yesterday yesterday and the number of cases was 136. I
just checked again and it is now 145. That is an increase of 11 since
yesterday.

I have that website bookmarked and I actually looked for you in
the birthday month a few days ago.

I notice now that 2 women are listed first on May 18 before
you. That's how I missed it...didn't read far enough.

I suspect you *could* poach a fish that way but only
using a clean dishwasher. It's the soap part that sounds
wrong.

No matter how well you wrap fish in foil, I'm sure some
soap will find a way in. No thanks.

Last time I ordered iced tea in a restaurant, it came in a tall
glass first filled to the top with small ice before adding the
tea. Hence - you got about 1/3 glass of actual tea.

Then you added your own sugar to taste. Small packets on table.
That never worked. It's hard to dissolve sugar in very cold
tea in the first place plus it was almost impossible to even
try to stir it in with all the damn ice. Most sugar just
sat on the bottom of the glass.

It was a dumb drink to order.

Around here there were only a couple places where you had to put a
deposit on a cart. They were discount grocery stores in the skid part of
the city. I have only been to one of those in the last year or so and
they gave up on it.

I'm sure I could find a bunch of Craigslist ads featuring pictures of
large breasted women allegedly renting rooms if I bothered to look. I
don't waste my time doing that. If he thinks they are scams he should
click the button that says the listing is innappropriate or a scam.

I just found this one:

https://hiltonhead.craigslist.org/roo/d/hilton-head-island-couch-surfing/7118582767.html

"Beautiful living situation available on Hilton Head Island. Are you
looking for a new place to live, a new life-a relationship with a
professional single white male? If so, reach out and tell me a bit about
yourself, where you are presently located and why you are looking to
move? No drugs, no drama, no children, no pets. There is no charge or
monthly rent, but we will work out some type of arrangement."

Sure sounds like this guy is looking for a live-in hooker. It's
probably not even his house in the photo.

> electric lawnmower?? What could possibly make you think they would

An interviewer is certainly not going to bring up electric cars,
electric lawn mowers or anything of that nature. They're not going to
ask if he owns a Nordic track, either. He just can't help himself.

The interview time as has come and gone... how'd the telephone interview
go, John? Yeah, I'm asking him, Bruce.

OB Food: A hot grilled roast beef sandwich topped with provolone on
bakery sourdough bread. Olive oil and butter in the pan, thinly sliced
deli roast beef and a slice of cheese. Very tasty!
