It balances out. I'm a typical coastal elite, even though I live in
a flyover state.

At least you live in a university city in a fly-over state, not in
Hicksville Alabama.

Ah. Your beef is with Milton Friedman.

"There is one and only one social responsibility of business–to use its resources and engage in activities designed to increase its profits so long as it stays within the rules of the game, which is to say, engages in open and free competition without deception or fraud."

What do I have backwards? 44% of Americans pay no federal tax but get
lots of benefits. It was the tax paying American people that helped the
banks.

Instead of blaming corporations for taking advantage of the law, blame
you congress person that made those laws. I follow the law and will not
pay a penny more than I have to so change the laws. Maybe change some
of the lawmakers too. Do you pay extra because it is a good thing to
do? Don't expect corporations to do so.

I don't have any problem with that philosophy. Unfortunately, screwing people, fraud, and tax evasion, and greed, is considered business as usual.

Corporations paying their fair share in taxes would be nice.

The net result of that philosophy is for corporations to maximize their
shareholder value and to reward their executives at the expense of the workers.

At 25C, I wilt.
This is one of the reasons I like living on the north coast of Scotland.

I acclimatised to this area. In Tasmania it used to be 5C (41F) in the
living room as I'd get up in winter. Here it's 13C-16C (55F-62F). My
thermostat has adjusted.

I don't disagree with her. I think the ratio of executive pay to worker
pay at many U.S. corporations is nothing short of criminal. But it's not
a crime.

It is not practice. I have mentioned before that I am a super taster
which just means that I have more taste buds on my lounge and that
makes things like spicy foods just way to hot to enjoy, thing like
beer and wine are just disgusting....

OK joan go on your little rant so we can all laugh at you...

I find it handy to see if a post has already had comments, in which
case I read those first so I don't say things others have already
said. Ideally.

This was when I was 18 years old, when I was 16 and 17 I was at
Mcdonalds where I was made manager after about three months.... Not
store manager mind you just an assistant manager. Then I turned 18 and
could work at dominos so I went there and they made me assistant
manager about 4 hours into the shift. So yeah go ahead and laugh,
thing is you have no idea what you are even laughing for.

The 90 second pizza would be a precooked crust with cheese and
toppings that is put in a cooker that heats and nukes at the same
time.

I have a sprayer that I use. It's filled with soy bean oil. My guess is that if you use a higher viscosity oil, like olive oil, it won't work. If you add some vodka, it might work better. I'll have to try that.
