Wouldn't have been me, have never seen an episode of that even though
I played bridge with John Dunsworth from time to time. He died awhile
back, quite suddenly.

Yes, such a shame. He was my favourite character in the show. And my
favourite TV or cinema drunk. Compared to him, any other drunks are
shitpuppets!

Who's the top buyers of property in Hawaii? Do you know, eh? Can you guess, eh? It's the Canadians - well, at least it was a few years ago.

I once worked with a Canadian gal back in college. I had been assigned to record a voice over for some audiovisual teaching material. My wife has a totally awesome voice but she was on the mainland so I asked the gal from Canada. Her voice seemed pleasant and clear enough but when I tried to record her, the reel to reel recorder would just freak out at the sound of her sibilants i.e., her "Ss." It sounded like she was shooting electric bolts out of her mouth.

My theory is that's how you can tell if a person is Canadian - they look like you or I but their voices cannot be recorded.

Boys does it, for instance.

Back in those ancient days, there did not seem to be much of a mental
difference between the US and Canada- at least from the
Detroit-Windsor perspective for me, my friends and family.

We had a tunnel and bridge to go back and forth easily and customs
control was very matter-of-fact way back then.

My dad, in the US Army during WWII, spent much of it in Edmonton and
my mom was up there with him. Canada was always just a "down the road"
sort of place...very much part of us.

lol. what was your problem with Bush Jr?
You are such a squirrel. Here in the US we often shoot them.

BTW, I finally discovered your food mentor. Every single
opinion about food is almost direct quotes from his books
and pamphlets. You believe what he tells you? Do you have no
personal opinions at all?

Actually, since both of you talk exactly the same,
perhaps you *are* him wasting your time here posting

I'm not sure. Possibly small amounts of s&p but the acid from the
strawberries cuts through the oil of the avocado.
It's worth a try since you probably have both at hand.

That's okay grandpa, you don't want to be concerning yourself with the foods we eat here on the rock. My guess is that it would cause your corneas to fly off at the first taste. Don't even look at my pictures - your health is important to me and I don't want to be responsible for making you go blind. That would be evil.

To shop for women, you go on either a Friday or Saturday
after 7pm. :)

Don't call them that. At those times, many single women
go shopping just to get out of the house for a bit. They
don't want to just sit home alone. They have no date for the
night and usually no boyfriend.

Smart single men do that too. Only "players" go to
bars to find a companion.

I met many at the outside concerts at the beach and dated
several. Only problem there was that they were only there
on vacation for a brief time.

I was always looking for a long-term thing and not just
a few days of fun, followed with a long-distant relationship.

At least the grocery stores has local women.

I've had spicy/hot food since childhood. Now that I grow them and have
kilos in the freezer, I have a chili pepper with every breakfast. I
can imagine it's different if you didn't grow up with them.

It was many years until I came across hot peppers etc. Have the
Italians always used them? I lived in Malta for a few years and got a lot
of Italian food, but I don't remember that. If not then I don't know where
I came across them for the first time. Anyway, I don't like spicy!!! :)))

I can remember some years ago having a conversion with SF. She was
talking about making chili/chilli and I mentioned that we don't like spicy
stuff. She was quite offended telling me (whatever it was she was making)
wasn't spicy! Can you see why I am confuddled <g>

Yes, it doesn't help that chili (con carne) contains chili (peppers).
Maybe SF used non spicy chili peppers if there is such a beast?

Southern Italian food uses a bit of hot spice, not the Italian food so
much. I don't recall Maltese food being spice at all. Miss the pastizzi?

Or maybe she's just so accustomed to spicy that her "mild" is Ophelia's
"mouth-searing hot".

I don't think Italians eat spicy food much traditionally, but the
moment I say that, someone will come up with a spicy Italian dish, I'm
sure.

That could be, since Ophelia and her gentleman also don't like pepper.

I had chicken tenders that needed to be used or frozen. I found this recipe:

https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/8801/golden-chicken-tenders/?internalSource=staff%20pick&referringId=17372&referringContentType=Recipe%20Hub

My package of chicken was larger. I used more stuffing and butter. I put a
layer of crushed stuffing under the chicken as well as on top and used about
1.5 teaspoons of butter for each piece.

Green beans and mashed potatoes on the side.

Most people know little to nothing about COPD... everyone's is
different whereas the damaged tissue can produce substantial mucous
which is difficult to expel, and not at all when asleep or under
anesthesia. I sleep sitting up, that works for me, after so long I'm
used to it. I also have medications that thin the mucous and help me
expel it. Combivent Respimat works well for me. The anesthesa they
gave me didn't put me under, just made me almost out but not quite, I
could still cough and clear my throat. I can't tell if I can see
better as I still have a clear plastic cover over my eye but it's all
filled with holes to let moisture out. I really won't know until the
second eye is done and healed but I have faith that I'll see much
better. I'm not worried, my mom always said I can make anything, I
have golden hands. Yoose gals needn't be concerned, I can always feel
my way.
