If you think anybody's capable of censoring Usenet, you fundamentally
don't understand how the technology works.

If you've said anything that triggered your own ISP, I can't imagine
how it could be any worse than 90% of the posts on alt.home.repair.

If you're paranoid (and a bit simple), you don't think like a sane
person.

Why? Wouldn't it be easier to wait for the cops to help me drag?

You can always claim he was already in the house and in fear of your life
is why you killed the cretin in case any questions are raised. You just
need the cops to drag his carcass out.

We don't have mailboxes on houses here. Only house I ever had, that had that
kind was on OTIS ANGB in MA. All of the other military housing I had, had
cluster boxes. OTIS ANGB was unique in that it had its own zip code and post
office. The post office had one person working in it. Not sure what happened
when he went on vacation. I rarely needed to use the post office. Don't
recall ever seeing the mail being delivered either. But then I was rarely
looking at my front door.

They are dong that here with electrical and other utility boxes. Covering
them with bright designs of flowers, butterflies and such.

Everybody's different. I always used to eat grilled cheese sandwiches
plain and I occasionally still do. It doesn't have to be the
same all the time.

There are other sandwiches besides BLT and grilled cheese, although
I agree with you about BLT and pickles.

McDonald's pies are mostly baked on the mainland. The pies are still fried in some areas of the country, Hawaii being one of them. We also have haupia and taro pies at certain times of the year.

Well evidently, oil and alcohol do not mix. It would probably help to get the oil thinned down to improve the spraying and reduce clogging. The only question is what solvent would be appropriate? Acetone?

Walnut, safflower, soy, and grape seed, oils have the lowest viscosity. Soy is probably the cheapest oil. There might be a market for a spray-able oil that can be used in a regular spray container.

Thanks for that! I haven't see soy oil in our shops, but I will keep
looking. If you do use the vodka, please report back:))

Well the Vodka doesn't mix very well and it turns the oil cloudy. I will be testing the mix. If it improves the spray that would be great.

I cooked up a hamburger in the air fryer. It turned out pretty good. The good thing is that there's no splattering oil all over the place. The bad thing is that I can only cook one at a time.

Obama did push through the Affordable Care Act in 2010. I cannot say how it compares to your system. It made Healthcare more accessible by expanding medical services for people over the age of 65 and for poverty level Americans. It also put some constraints on charges for services and forced insurance companies to not charge more for preexisting medical conditions. It made medical insurance payments mandatory for most Americans and increased taxes for the richest Americans in order to subsidize coverage for the poorest Americans. It has been called the most sweeping change in the US healthcare industry since the passage of Medicare in 1965.

In the end, it resulted in over 90% of American being covered by health insurance. OTOH, my guess is that this Covid-19 thing might result in sweeping changes to our healthcare system. I cannot say how though.

There is no real update. I called the post office. I was told it was up to
us, the neighbors to get and install the new mailbox. Guy next door said BS.
He's not doing it. Guy on the other side of me isn't around. Spoke to the
dad next door to him. He never got back to me. We don't know the other
neighbors so... We're stuck at that.

Gardener is here because there is a pandemic and he's stuck here for the
time being. This according to the cops. Nobody can be evicted at this point
in time. He was moving out. Some bad things happened that I will not get
into (not involving me) and this delayed things. That's all I'm going to say
about that.

Indeed - I'd like to get a 90's Miata but my wife is deathly afraid of that idea. I remember my dad getting a convertible when I was around 6. It was just wonderful riding around in the night air. It was the kind of elation that a dog probably feels. That only happened one time. My mom probably put her foot down on that one. That car was gone, gone, gone, after that one ride. My dad was probably trying to sell on the idea. My dad was a great salesman but that was a no sale. My parents are lucky I didn't jump out of that car.

when i started growing beans a quick way to get
varieties to try out was buying a 16 bean soup mix.
some of them did not grow at all, but the others
did ok.

eventually though i wanted more varieties so i've
bought some from seed companies and also done a lot of
trades with people on-line and at a few seed swaps.

i also cross-breed and select from what i harvest
what looks interesting. it can take a few years to
evaluate a bean to see what it does. i have a
variety of soil types to work with so that is also
a part of the evaluation process.

one thing i did this year was interplant a large
number of beans to encourage them to cross breed.
i won't know if any actually did until the seeds
from this year are planted and grown (the seed coat
from a cross shows the maternal color and pattern so
you have to plant them to see what comes next). with
as many seeds as i hope to get i'll never be able to
plant all of them so some crosses can happen and
won't be detected. just have to keep at it and keep
trying. :) since i don't hand-pollinate or isolate
plants the bugs/bees do all the crossing for me.

if they are old they may not sprout or they
may sprout and then die.

when you know you have good bean seeds they
will sprout faster when the soil gets warmer.

if you have trouble getting any to sprout at
all you may need to do it indoors where it is
warmer and then set them out.

--------------- Thank you. All advice is very welcome:))

well it is cheap enough as a bag of beans is
only a few $ here - and since we are a bean growing
region a lot of them may be even sort of local.

the problem i had with them though was that they
were too familiar to me and i wanted to get more
varieties more suited towards our micro-climate
and soils. each year i keep finding more to work
with so it is going well. :) and i do give a lot
of them away at the seed swap. that is also a
good way to get garden seeds and fun to meet
people.
