Yesterday's lunch was a leftover cold sauted skinless boneless chicken breast on a hard roll with mayo and sweet pickle relish. Sometimes I'll have sweet pickle relish on a hot dog with mustard. I buy the pickle relish ready made. However my real fermented garlic dills I make my own and I prefer to eat them whole. When my kirbys come in this year I'm ready for putting up a boat load. |

That might have been appealing when I was a child. I now open up a grilled cheeses sandwich and insert thin slices of onion, tomato, and fresh jalapeno. Cindy Hamilton |

"They" as in the manufacturers of those things. I didn't make that up. I've seen the warning sticker on them when I did a remodeled bathroom a few times. I suppose it's a disclaimer to protect the company from a future lawsuit. Those warning stickers say to leave on and let owner read them and remove. I'm not going to look it up for you but you can. Google will show a mention about this concern. If your outdoor hot tub has water jets, you might want to read all about it. |

They shouldn't have. BTW - how do you like that walk-in tub? Glad you bought it? I see the commercials often. |

Or, possibly after 30 years of hot tub ownership, I'll just keep doing what I'm doing. Don't forget, ordinary play sand is known to be a carcinogen to the State of California. Cindy Hamilton |

You can even do it in Google Groups. Of course, this requires one to know how to operate their readers. Lots of folks don't. That's kind of lame. If I show "tree" view, I'd still have to click on a link to see the last message (and so do you). I click on a number shown on the same message. I prefer to read all by "date/time" not "tree" as you can plainly see by my screenshot above. |

Not even sure it would still work on newer computers. I should try it sometime though as on my newer computer I use Thunderbird and I don't especially like that. |

Here the houses are far apart but the mail carriers deliver from their vehicle to country mailboxes at roadside. When they have a package that won't quite fit into the country mailbox they will drive up the driveway and leave it in a protected spot at the garage door, or they may leave a form in the mailbox to pick up at the post office. |

The indentured servants cost a lot less since they were temporary. Kinda similar to leasing a car vs buying one these days. |

Nobody owes anybody a decent living. It's up to the individual to make something better out of their life. People that earn less, need to learn to live on less. There are many ways to reduce cost of living. Learn to live within your means and not go into debt. Of your list of needs above, no one *has* to have internet service much less high speed internet or even a computer. Local libraries offer that for free. That's just one savings for the poor. If you're single and live in St.Louis, rent a room from John Kuthe. Housing doesn't get any cheaper than that. :) |

I agree with you there. Best food I ever remember came from my grandmother (on Mother's side of family). She literally spent her whole life in the kitchen cooking country food. Fresh garden vegetables and usually game for the meat. Every meal has good memories there. |

He fought against the Americans in the War of 1812. His son moved back to New York and when the Civil War broke out he fought with the Army of Virginia. He was Provost Marshall under Stonewall Jackson and then Provost General under Robert E Lee and was present at the surrender at Appomattox Courthouse. |

My comment came from all your past crabcake posts, Jill. Or did you go to a local seafood place and buy live crabs this time? Cook them and pick them? I doubt that happened. OTOH, I've never had canned crabmeat so, although I criticize that, it might work perfectly fine for crabcakes. |
