Funny there how all "handsome young men" all look like clones. All perfect gym bodies, short hair and a 4-5 day unshaven face. All in their 30's. Dressed nice and all tall men. They do so look alike. Often hard to remember which is the bad guy and which is the friendly one. Funny to me. As Lifetime is a woman's channel mainly, I suppose this is how they envision the perfect handsome man. |

My daughter's hair reaches almost to her ankles but she keeps it in a bun. This means that it's hard to identify her from a distance because most girls here present a similar appearance. Men wearing buns mostly means they have long hair and wearing it in a bun is merely a practical consideration. Most of them would be from the South Pacific islands. OTOH, most local young men are wearing their hair shorter these days. I was at a wedding where most of the guests were from the UK. All of the males had buzz cuts. I was surprised. That's what was culturally appropriate for them. Perhaps it has something to do with football culture. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IYGD2TeHfC4 |

I can't say it has anything to do with football, softball, soccer, etc. It's cool, no fuss, and can be done at home if they choose. |

THE perfect Shared International Student House! Sadly, many neighborhoods surrounding colleges turn into slums eventually and reduce property value. Cheap rent for college students but when they leave for the summer, poor people move in for the cheap rent. And they don't leave. And a poor neighborhood often turns into a crime zone. |

The best door mats we've found are those constructed from rubber tires, they last practically forever, we have several... we have them on our wood deck, they drain and dry fast. Something that reaches from the top step of his front porch all the way to the door. Something that will protect that paint from wearing off from constant foot traffic. No matter what type of paint he uses, it will wear off due to constant in and out that front door. |

Hanover twp pa, usa. Sounds like the block retaining wall needed several weep holes, especially at the footing... the blocks should be staggered and spaced 2-3 inches apart so water can drain, especially since PA freezes at least 3 feet deep, so I'd say your wall needs a foundation deeper than the frost line. Also several of those blocks should be placed as sleepers, set the long way into the earth for strength. Since you haven't posted a picture I would strongly suggest you have your retaining wall redone by an experienced mason. Right off the top I'd say your retaining wall should be of poured and rebared concrete, cinder blocks are the worst material one could choose for an earth retaining wall... in your climate were it me I'd have used railroad ties. Find a lumber yard that sells real ties, used in good condition will cost about $20 per.... they'd last more than 50 years. You can do the job yourself but since real ties are quite heavy (200+ lbs) you'd need a strong helper. https://goodhomeids.com/build-railroad-tie-retaining-wall/ https://search.aol.com/aol/image;_ylt=AwrJ6y25rBVfZYQAZyBpCWVH;_ylu=X3oDMTB0N2Noc21lBGNvbG8DYmYxBHBvcwMxBHZ0aWQDBHNlYwNwaXZz?q=railroad+tie+retaining+wall&s_it=searchtabs&v_t=loki-keyword I wouldn't bother removing your cinder block wall, I'd set the tie wall right in front of it. Just be sure to use real ties, those called landscape ties are fakes and rot too quickly. |

Tomatoes are so good when ripened to red. Most people let them do that. When end of season comes, you're often left with tomatoes that don't ripen much so well. THOSE are the ones good to make "Fried Green." About the same taste as any fried summer squash. |

I'm 99% sure some of those "International" students were vegetarians so he jumped right on that bandwagon. Of course there aren't any "housemates" there right now. No legal "Occupancy Permit". I'm not sure who he's trying to impress with this vegetarian thing. As for Bruce - hey, I often eat meals that don't involve dead animals. I just don't feel the need to crow about them. I sure as heck am not interested in eating a standard meal (never mind calling it an "STD" - aka "sexually transmitted disease") every day. When it comes to food I enjoy variety. Jill |
