| Silvar Beitel <silverbeetle@charter.net>: Jul 24 08:51AM -0700 Plums: Made "Marian Burros' Purple Plum Torte" for the Nth time because it's simple and simply awesome. Recipes all over the net, including in the past in RFC. Google it and/or search RFC archive of your choice. Did I mention awesome? Pics: https://photos.app.goo.gl/kRXYcKZgNHASoDsQ8 Prunes: Not paying close attention because, basically, IDGAF, but some time ago the dried fruit industry decided to stop calling them prunes (associated with constipated old people, I guess) and started calling them dried plums, which of course is what they are, to appeal to a wider demographic. But apparently they have became prunes again. Just bought a can, being old and constipated (or maybe just remembering that I like them as is or in various grain and fruit bars). Perhaps old people didn't know what dried plums were. :-) God: Just a teaser in the subject line. Ignore. -- Silvar Beitel |

A ton of coconut-milk curries are built that way. I don't like coconut milk, but I do like grated coconut (unsweetened) in things. Poriyal is one of my favorites. <https://foodess.com/green-bean-poriyal-coconut-stir-fry/> Cindy Hamilton |
| bruce2bowser@gmail.com: Jul 24 08:05AM -0700 That could be for the kids. Otherwise, a good raw fish (sashimi) and nihonshu liquor bar would be great for the fans. You know, where you could get addicted to quickly mixing that green horseradish (wasabi) up with soy sauce (shoyu) before dipping a raw cut of fish in. I always wondered what those pink shavings were... pickled ginger or something? |

The B & I hasn't been there for a very long time. They had a chicken too. https://www.historylink.org/File/20533 I think I was in there twice to shop. My mom got a yellow vase with butterflies on it. And I did inventory there when I was in high school. I think the building is an antique mall but it's pretty far from here. Even if I wanted to go there, I wouldn't. Gotta go through Seattle to get there. I'm boycotting Seattle. Sorry tert. Just too dangerous. The rioters are saying it's gonna burn on Sat. They set a weed store on fire yesterday. |

Apparently the protesters are going to court to have restrictions placed on the so called federal agents. It just seems a little ironic to have people claiming to control an autonomous zone wanting the authorities to step in. That ranks up there with a video iI saw on FB when a cop is telling views about a Defund the Police organization requesting a police presence at their protest to protect them. |

I've been trying to be like that, plus the other fashionable superfoods they talk about elsewhere. It's still too tempting to ALWAYS avoid the junk. So, I just have to run around the track a couple of times more, I guess. If I was in downtown, Vancouver, Seattle or Portland like you, I'm sure the authorities wouldn't chase me down while running laps around the nearby high school track. Weird. Try picturing that. (I know what your response is: don't put it past them) |

No. I don't feed them bread. I feed them cracked corn, which is about $10 for a 23-kg bag. Cindy Hamilton |

So, cshenk's pork shoulder and your pricy traditional bread might have made a great sandwich idea. |
