I did something similar a few years back, but now those milk crates are
full of more stuff and placed/stacked in front of the shelves. It never
ends.

I blame RFC. Or more specifically, alt.food.asian. Someone there posted a picture of his or her table full of asian foods/spices/condiments/etc. probably 25 years ago. I fell in love with the idea of having so many good things immediately at hand, so started stocking up. And going overboard. And have had to deal with it ever since. :-)

AFA is deader than a doornail these days, along with all of the Usenet newsgroups I used to enjoy except for a tiny few, like RFC, and even those have been teetering on the edge of oblivion for years. I enjoyed it all while it lasted.

We digressed a bit. I was amazed. I've never seen that happen on RFC. ;)

Yes, the famous gold coin. Else he confines his meals to kosher
jewish delis.

I tell folks that the best reason not to fry as much as I do is, "...because you don't want your kitchen to look like mine." If you don't want silk shirts melded to your chest, and that's understandable, wear a cotton shirt, or no shirt. While I'm pretty nudist, I typically have pants on when I fry, but often don't have a shirt on, and I almost never get hit with oil splatter.

Fried chicken is a popular dish on this rock. We have a wide range of ways to fry chicken. Chicken karaage is pretty popular these days. My guess is that Hawaiian fried chicken will be popular on the mainland. It's tasty chicken that's easy to eat but it's not Hawaiian - it's Japanese.
