It's unfortunate that the partisan politics are likely to result in an
acquittal even though he is guilty as hell, he and a number of other
Republicans who abetted the mob. However, I think it is unlikely that he
will run again. I thought that he was facing enough legal problems that
he is going to be too busy fighting charges to have the time and energy
to run a political campaign.

The biggest benefit of convicting him in the senate would be to bar
him from running again. I got the impression from comments made by a
number of Republicans that they think he has discredited their party and
he stands little chance of winning the nomination.

At the time they probably thought it was a great idea and they would be
look at as heroes. They are the ones that put Trump back in office and
now they have bragging rights.

We are laughing at how dumb they were but the deranged mind does not
think in the same logic. Trump had the same hold on them that Hitler
had on his people. They believed every lie he told them. When the
German Parliament building was burned down by his followers Hitler
blamed it on the Communists and used it as a way to absolute power.

That is an very apt comparison. Thank you, Ed! You expressed it very
eloquently. Those factions he attracts are scary.

I was absolutely astonished at the sheer gall of those people, what they
did and were urged to do by a Sore Loser who thought he could get them
to stage a coup. Then they took selfies and bragged about it on social
media. Hello, spend some time in GITMO. Domestic Terrorism is a real
thing. Meanwhile, you got your 15 minutes on camera. Welcome to the
Department of Homeland Security. And guess what? Trump still lost the
election.

Smithsonian channel had a series on WWII recently that started with
Hitler's rise to power. Trump has read his book Mien Kampf too. Many
parallels.

The parallels disturb me. All I can say is I hope, hope, hope the
impeachment will succeed to the point where he can no longer seek
political office. Please, people, see reason. This guy is a lunatic.
Do not give him another chance.

I enjoyed watching the Inauguration. I felt it was very positive and a
lot of fun. I wasn't really expecting the entertainment aspect of it.
But it left me with a very positive feeling, there is hope that we might
be done with that President who slunk off to Florida.

Did you see the network coverage of his leaving the White House? (It was
minmal.) Melania was standing about 6 feet away from him on the
platform while he gave a weak "we'll be back" speech, looking like she
really didn't want to be there. The funny thing is even his beloved Fox
News dropped him like a hot potato. They didn't cover him, they covered
the Inauguration.

Trump is slinking off with his tail between his legs. Sore loser. He's
the first President in history to refuse to attend an Inaguaration.
He's the first President in history to incite a mob to violence and urge
them to break in to stop the Electoral College vote. To my way of
thinking, he committed an act of Treason. Against the United States and
the very people he claims he represents.

I'm sorry if so many people think the Former Adminstration is what
America is about. It certainly isn't what I believe in. I look forward
to the new administration with hope. I certainly don't expect miracles
or immediate changes. There is transition. But I feel much more
positive now than I ever did with the last 4 years of pure crap! Got to
give the new Administration time to settle in.

It's not an original toffee recipe. He has stated many times it's a JOC
recipe. Anyone with that cookbook could make the toffee.

It doesn't matter. Most, if not all, recipes already existed or are
based on something existing. Make it well, market it well and sell it
well, that's what counts.

Like "Krazy Kuth's LOO Toffee" That has a nice ring.

Maybe some colorful clowns giving it away to children in the
commercial.

the saltine cracker crunch stuff is great and not that
much work in comparison.

I did not create the recipe, but I'll bet no one else makes it! And I have a big Tupperware container with some of it sitting on my Front Table right now!

No, what counts is that it's DELICIOUS! And I MAKE IT!

His toffee is covered in melted chocolate, no cracker crunch anthing.
It probably tastes great but he's never successfully sold any. He has
an unfinished web site which he cannot seem to figure out how deal with.
(He even says so right on the site - he can't figure out the software.)

I'm sure the toffee is delicious. Again, it's a recipe he got from a
cookbook. That aside, I'm not sure why he keeps posting the url to an
incomplete website. It's just chatter.

I have a recipe for very buttery "English" toffee with chopped almonds
topped with melted chocolate that can be mostly cooked in the microwave.
The recipe came from an old microwave cookbook and yes, I have made it.
It's almond toffee topped with melted chocolate. It tastes better
than Heath Bars. Maybe I should post that recipe.

Replicating "Heath Bars" or making chocolate topped toffee isn't all
that difficult. I don't know why he thinks his toffee is so thrilling
or why we need to keep hearing about it. He's like a broken record.
It's sad.

Is he old enough to retire? If he retires early (62) his Social Security check will
be GREATLY reduced. If he has a company 401k and/or pension plan it will
behoove him to stay until his full retirement age and continue building his
retirement plans. But I think Alex is doing just fine with his future retirement
accounts.

He lost another job and is, evidently, taking it out on me and claiming
that I'm not educated.  I responded with more information that I
normally would to get him to shut up but I tried to stop short of
bragging.  If he only knew how well others here handled their finances
he would probably explode.  His ex-friend has a decent job, a solid
family life, and is responsible with his money. I guess we are seeing
what happens when a true narcissist collapses.

After running the numbers , I decided that it was in my best
long-term financial interest to retire at 62 . If I live past 94 , it
would have been better to wait ... By then it won't matter much , we
live a very frugal lifestyle (older cars , do all my own maintenance and
home repairs , etc) and unless a major illness hits one of us there
should be some money left after we both croak .

You can use the same mix of herbs, just modify the cooking. I get a
nice crispy skin and moist meat.

I wonder if chickens know how good they taste.

I own a business with revenue of over $5 million per year.  My college
degree was a minor help in that.  Most of what I learned was from prior
employment and a lot of hard work.  Not all industries are the same and
not all can be taught in school.  I don't want to die a few years after
retirement like too many people do.  I'm set now but I like what I do
and I employ more than a dozen people (all over $18/hour and the top at
$75K per year) so that is more motivation to keep it going and not sell
out.  I offer them a 401K, with a 4% match, as well as profit sharing
but Biden's corporate tax cuts might make that impossible to continue.

What has your education done for you?
