That would be nice, though even I would balk at burning
him alive. It would be nice to see a Major League home
run hitter take a hard swing at his head, with two eyeballs
and bits of skull and brains going flying.

I don't make it often but when I do, it's cast iron with results as you
say.

I also do (sometimes) a Jiffy mix with added raisins. Comfort food
from childhood. I use muffin cups then.

I make rice porridge (posted many a time), soups that require only
minimal cooking like lentil types.

Both look very tasty and those fries are perfect.

It's leftovers here and some Thin Mint Girl Scout cookies for dessert
with a glass of milk.

Spicy chicken? That sounds pretty good. I had some garlic chicken for breakfast this morning. I had that with Sriracha and it was pretty good too.

The fries *did* turn out perfect, but the process of parboiling and
frying is hit or miss, especially since I used russets. If they'd been
overly boiled they'd have fallen apart, and I wouldn't have posted
about the dinner.

Details always seem to be a problem for you.  Imagine the feedback the
agency is getting from this young "training RN".

They're so desperate for nurses now that they let
an addled old pervert care for disabled children.

The FEMA nurses that take care of some of the Covid patients have got a pretty good gig. They get paid $125/hour, and have their housing and travel expenses paid by the feds. My wife says they're not trained to do any psychiatric nursing and have it pretty easy because none of the patients at her hospital require intensive care. OTOH, I sure wouldn't want their jobs.

Yes, it is a fact, with most idiots. I don't care if a guy is illiterate, if he's intelligent it will show up in other ways. Being inquisitive is one. And then even beyond your question comes another, "Is intelligence, no matter how it is determined, more valuable than other qualities like being a nice person for example. I'll admit I prefer to associate with people I see as intelligent. Intelligent enough to understand what I'm saying but not intelligent enough to challenge it. Yeah, I agree, facts as taught in school do suck. That's why I forced them to boot me out at age 15. I hated it. When was Benjamin Franklin born? The historical crap, I hated it then and I hate it still. Not all history, just the political and military type. It is absolutely needless. So is the so-called news. You don't need it. Nobody does. Go a few years without reading or watching it and you won't be any worse off, unless you're jonesing for some water cooler conversation.

I am usually well informed about election issues and party and candidate
platforms and I always vote. I have to admit that I have seen parties
come out with things they say they have a mandate for, but it was not
part of their platform.

You seem honest about it, and that's good. But I just hate it, I really do. It bores me and I believe it's importance is greatly overrated. The endless debates are annoying but also funny although I'm not laughing about it much anymore. Without even trying, just glancing at the paper which I sometimes buy to find tiny treasures which are dwindling more and more as time goes by and everything becomes more political than ever - just glancing at this crap I know as much about it as most idiots who devote all their time to it. The front page is not the news. The news is what happened to you today. I read the newspaper, but it's for a variety of stuff, the puzzles, etc. Unless it's a disaster or something dramatic I think the front page is the least honest and least informative of all the sections in the paper. Don't argue with me or you might be reading about me on the front page soon. Well, maybe not you - not if you go too far and push me too far. Your post had an honest tone to it and for that I give you a B+.

On a Sunday you don't know if you are working the next day?  Seems very
odd.  You don't have a schedule or did you forget to ask?

John feels that it important that we on the cooking NG know
about his Sunday Recreation Day. Perhaps it is important
that all of the nursing agencies also know these things. After
all, he's proud of his Sunday stiffies. What do you think, John?
Would it bother you if your agency found out about the things
you've posted to Usenet? Would you prefer that no one tip
them off? If you ignore these questions, and don't object, that
will seem like you're OK with folks here sharing the things
you've posted in this public forum--not that anyone here other
than me would need permission.

I remember the 'Old Country Buffet'. Used to have a pretty nice brunch
spread.
