I love the humor of rationalization. I suppose in that way you can say
it's my game, but really my number one game is truth. I don't build a

I won't argue that. But lots of people world wide play the same
card every chance they get. It doesn't always have to be racial
or ethnic or gender based, it can be anything - any opportunity
to stand out as something special. People tend to play this
card when they are away from home. New Yorkers do it a lot.
They move to L.A. for example and all they talk about is how
great New York is. And for them it probably is great - as long
as they're not there. Lots of people pull the old 'stranger in
a strange land' card too. Some do it with sports teams. Like
a New Yorker in L.A. will be a very vocal New York Yankee
supporter. But when he's in New York he doesn't follow sports
at all, it's just an opportunity for him to grab center stage.

Mostly, funky is associated with spoiled, rancid, or fermented, food. I'm making some soup from the water that I cooked last night's corned beef. It's a very flavorful broth. I want it to taste spicy, sour, and a little funky so I added some green Thai curry paste. The spicy comes from the chili, the sour from the lemongrass, and the funkiness is from the fermented shrimp paste. I added some ketchup as a sweetener and to brighten up the soup. Later on, I'll add some chopped cabbage. It'll be awesome.
 
Sometimes I get to eat funky steaks i.e., meat that's been sitting in the fridge too long - it's an acquired taste.

I think I know what you mean. Today everybody wants to market
something. Even farts. Once selling enters the picture everything
goes downhill. Good old school mainstays can no longer be found.
A good old school 'silent but deadly' fart will be hard to find in the
future. Same with loud dry boomers that for eons have brought
good will and cheer to millions the world over, they too will be hard
to come by as "new and improved" hybrid farts take center stage
with fusion farts of all types on the shelves and you can't find a
good old fashioned stinker or boomer all by itself. You can't go
simple, it's all fusion and hybrid shit, new strains of farts mixed

A fart is cut on an a half filled elevator. We can't hear it,
we know by the disgusted expression of a woman's face
when the stink hits. The camera pans in on all the faces
in the elevator, each expressing disgust as the reek
takes hold. Everyone is looking at everyone else trying
to decide who to blame. In the meantime off to the side
we see one guy (the one who cut the fart), slipping a $50

the racket. But you have to know the right people and

I usually make chicken, if I'm cooking meat, because that's what's
affordable.
 
When I make chicken pot pie, a few times per year, I get a package of
split chicken breast on sale for a few bucks. Boil it in a small stock
pot until mostly cooked, and reserve most of the breast meat to go into
the pie filling with veggies (some for soup). I simmer rest of the
bones and scraps plus onions in the water until I have a broth. With
carrots/celery split between the pot pies and the soup, I'm left with a
pot of chicken noodle soup, plus two chicken pot pies; one goes into the
freezer.

I was shocked when I found that price; I was hoping that they'd still
have them. My guess is that there are lots of older folks in this area,
who frequent this local butcher, and view wings less as premium cuts;
more of as scraps. Hey, that works for me.
 
I should have started them off in a slow oven until more fat rendered
out of the wings; then turned up the heat. Alternatively, they would
have been better if I deep fried them, but the peanut oil in the fryer
smells like it has started to turn rancid. I really didn't feel like
scouring it out yesterday.
