Two weeks ago I saw something made with caramelized onions and it looked
so good I wanted to do something with onions. Today I thought of a
quiche with bacon, onions, cheese. Used a store bought pie crust. Cut
up an onion, bacon, but instead of opening another package of bacon, I
cut up some Spam already open. Grated some sharp cheddar, a little
Romano. Six eggs and cream.

Good for dinner tonight and lunch for another couple of days.

Tomorrow: Factory raised chicken parts.

Judging from the news, these will be Covid-processed chicken parts!

I, like you have many favourites but for beginners most of them are a
bit overwhelming.

Many years ago after a series of failures, I decided to go back to
square one and get a book that would make me start from scratch. On
holiday in the UK, I went into a branch of a major bookstore chain and
went through all the bread books. I chose "Ultimate Bread" by Treuille
and Ferrigno: http://tiny.cc/ggpnnz
Unfortunately, the North American edition has the recipes in cup measure
which doesn't help the beginner learn the feel of the dough. The recipes
work and they helped me get my confidence back. Incidentally, I took a
course in Italian cookery given by Ursula Ferrigno and she is the most
delightful person.
As an alternative, I would look at Cyril Hitz "Baking artisan bread":
http://tiny.cc/cmpnnz
The book comes with a dvd. I had a question about one of the recipes and
e-mailed Hitz and received a very helpful reply a few hours later.

If you have a pencil, and a sheet of paper, you could make a list.
That way, after weeks of waiting to shop, you wouldn't have to rely
on memory.

I've been doing this pencil trick for 50 years.

I used to live in WA state, and live quite nearby still, with many
friends in that state. NONE OF THEM REPORT THIS. But then, none of
them are Droolie the Bovine.

Droolie is an idiot, plain and simple. There is no restriction on
going to the store "every two weeks." There isn't even a restriction
on which stores one can go to - the convenience shop nearby, a
QFC or Safeway in the area, Trader Joe's, Costco, or down to the
Asian supermarkets in Seattle's International District. With the
reduced traffic on the freeways, going from Bothell into Seattle
for that kind of thing is a snap.

I also live in one of the Pacific Northwest's larger cities, and have
no problem getting what I like to have in the fridge and pantry. But
then, I'm not Droolie the Bovine Idiot.

We're not talking about World War II.

We are talking the USA, in the year 2020. In your case, that's metro
Seattle.

In some cases, stores limit amounts, but that's about it. You can't buy
nine boxes of facial tissue (maybe).

As far as staying within a mile of home, or going out to the store(s)
only every couple of weeks:

There is no such limitation. You are allowed to go just about anywhere
in metro Seattle to get groceries at a shop of your choosing. Nobody
will stop you.

You're not only an idiot, you're a misinformed lying idiot.

Do you have Alzheimers? You know that pencils and paper are not available
west of the Rockies. And if they were, they'd be all sold out.

what you do is convert it into coins of the same denominations as paper
money...people will spend it as fast as they can so it will stimulate
the economy

I bought a package of 3 rib steaks last week and have cooked 2 of them. They were beautiful steaks but I'm sick of cooking/eating them. I think I'll try marinating them in a teriyaki sauce. Thanks for the idea. Then I'll be done with them!

I'm also sick of making/eating meat pies! I made some last night. I was too lazy to crack an egg to brush on them before baking so they were brushed with mayo. They turned out fine but I'm done with making them too. I'm running out of trick real fast, it seems.

Are you gonna use your UZI on the bitches?

Ask your indians what to do. They are smarter than you.

Do your indians think you are wobbly?

I would trust them darkies more than evil white people in the Loo.
