She has 'Great Expectations' [Dickens reference] when it comes to online
dating. Comes across as desperate. I've known women and *men* who
simply were incapable of being comfortable living alone. She appears to
be one of them.

The weird thing is she posts about how everyone has been ordered to stay
home and not go shopping and can't find whatever food online. Yet she's
meeting some guy in a parking lot to allegedly to go shopping for plants.

Can you be more specific about "colonists from central Europe"? Just
curious.

Our bathroom has the separate hot and cold valves. The British used to have separate hot and cold faucets in their bathrooms and they liked it that way! To get warm water, you have to move your hands quickly between the water streams. It's a lot of fun.

'Used to'? They are still far too common. Our new bathroom/shower room
has single lever taps, but the original bathroom has the two separate
ones, widely spaced.

Next time you visit the UK, take note of the fact that sink stoppers are
provided. The idea is that you put the stopper in place, then turn on
the taps to wash your hands in the the water in the basin, rather than
flipflopping your hands between the taps...

My parents built the house in 1987 and I doubt they gave it a second
thought. Neither bathroom has ever been updated.

It's not about the sheer quantity. It's about the cacophony of
flavors. I'd rather taste each ingredient of a more simply dressed
pizza than wade through all those competing flavors.

That's it. And the base is also completely drowned out if you pour the
kitchen sink over it.

I always wanted to make steak & kidney pie. I have never been able to
find lamb kidneys anywhere in the US. Oh well.

A friend makes one every year. I always enjoy a slice or two and then
I'm set for many months. Unlike a good apple or peach pie that I could
eat every day, a sliced of mince is a good treat a couple of times a year.

Beef/veal or pork kidney work just as well. Indeed, the original would use
whatever was to hand.

Don't know. Probably not ATT!

Yes, that can be a problem. We've had power failures here and lost our
internet connection, and then less than an hour later, the cell/mobile
service died. At least the landline still worked, but my husband's
business Voip phone was out of commission.

Oysters are oysters and mussels are mussels. I like both, and it's
a mistake to think of one as a substitute for the other.

De gustibus. Your taste isn't the same as everyone else's.

Your views can be very limited, too. Do you even eat raw oysters?

I like mussels cooked, a la pissghett marinara.
I'll enjoy oysters cooked or raw... I chew raw oysters... also very
good as poultry stuffing cooked seperately, I posted a recipe prior to
Thanksgiving. I don't do stuffed poultry, interferes with the poultry
cooking properly, nor is it food safe.
I much prefer clams on the half shell; little necks/cherrystones.
cooked I like clam chowder but I much prefer Manhattan style, not New
England style, I never liked cream soups. Yoose can have my share of
crabs, lobster too. I do like Scungilli marinara over pissghet, and
pepper biscuit... addictive.
