Be sure to pick out all the rat turds in any kind of pepper. I got
that tip from Popeye.

My dad was part of the occupational force. He said it was a most pitiful thing. The people would move out of his way when he walked down the street and would look down in shame. They were completely defeated. I suppose the same happened with the occupational forces in Europe. Maybe it's always been the same.

There will be investigations.

OrangeFace tweeted this last summer during BLM marches in Portland:

"Anarchists, Agitators or Protestors who vandalize or damage our
Federal Courthouse in Portland, or any Federal Buildings in any of our
Cities or States, will be prosecuted under our recently re-enacted
Statues & Monuments Act. MINIMUM TEN YEARS IN PRISON. Don't do it!
@DHSgov

It'd be nice if some of these seditionists got 10 yrs+.

Nonsense, Cindy, rioting *is* "the American Way", as our MSM press says! Here is a short vid, it explains it ALL for ya:

The Huffington Post - How Riots Built America [12 June 2020]

Presented by Darnell Hunt, Dean of Social Sciences, University of California @ Los Angeles

'Rioting is inherently American. Throughout U.S. history, from the Boston Tea Party to the ongoing George Floyd protests, demonstrators can be found fighting for change and against oppression on the streets...'

Half the population is below average IQ. Half the country voted for
Trump.... give or take a bit. What a coincidence.

That plays both ways. Or all four ways, take your pick.

I stopped watching the news, but isn't this just another case of what
the legacy media refers to as "mostly peaceful protests"? That is,
without the burning down of property and stealing a bunch of stuff.

It's not enough to censure conservatives from the book of faces or the
twitty bird. I mean get real. Now is the time to stomp out the words
of anyone opposing Progressive Ideas. We all know we don't need any
other ideas mixing up our youths' minds. Fuck free speech! This is a
new world and we must force the views on anyone who isn't with the
program.

Don't let them on airplanes. No hotel rooms. Do not allow publishers
to put into print anything we don't approve of. Cancel their books!
All Christian schools and churches must be closed. They are spreading
the hate. Once Biden is in office, continue getting rid of the police.
We won't need them anymore. Continue with the lockdowns until ALL
conservative owned small businesses are gone. Let the disadvantaged
have those businesses, and the government must support them and not let
them fail. Everyone must have a government - guaranteed income of $3000 per month - except
for conservatives. A Chinese - style "social credit" system will ensure that only
the "left - thinking" people will have access to jobs, housing, credit, travel, and benefits.

Anyone arrested during the peaceful protests this spring and summer must
have the charges dropped. Those protests were necessary and harmed no
one. Anyone who claims Antifa is a terrorist organization must be
thrown in prison. Antifa is just an IDEA.

If you have an employee who posts anything in support of Trump (I hate
to say the name!) - they have to go. Our workplaces must only have
progressive ideas. If their spouses are doing it, too bad. Let them
go. Anyone wearing a MAGA hat or clothing must not be allowed into
stores, restaurants, libraries, on trains, at the park, or anywhere else
decent people gather. In fact, they should be outlawed nation wide,
even in homes! I'd say shoot their dog and eat their cats, but I like
animals. So don't do that. But if they have a horse, maybe....only
fucking country hicks have those...

The time is now. Anyone not on our bus must
get run over by it.....Fuck 'em!!

Yup...I'd describe it as "mostly peaceful"...it was dispersed in a few hours, and some minimal material damage occurred ....but HEY "it's only property", and "they have insurance"...no homes or businesses were burned or looted. Several, unfortunately, met their demise, but "them's the breaks", I guess :=(

Anyways, Congress was up and running that same evening and back to business, so no *real* harm done...it certainly was *not* The Storming of the Winter Palace or The Bastille or the Burning of the Reichstag or anything like that...

Peeps can now get back to watching football and agonizing over the Kardashian - West split...

Well I was there and did see what I saw and arrogance is a pretty kind
word.

We were fortunate, being British Subjects, the US Army had no
jurisdiction over us but several times suffered shit from them when
they took it for granted we were American! I have an American friend
who was a US Marine at that time and he is mortified at the way they
treated the Japanese.

They were not fighting for a just cause in this case. They were
fighting to keep the Liar-in-Chief in office when not justified.

What was there to overthrow? Who was being persecuted? What good was
to come of this?

Trump did a lot of things the past 3 years and 11 months that can be
debated and opined on both sides. We all have opinions on things. What
has been done in the past few weeks is just provocation to riot and
damage because of his mental instability. He is very much to blame when
he invited his followers, his "special people" to raise hell. The man
in unfit for office.

Yes, but this was inspired by the President of the United States. A
mentally unfit person that cannot accept the reality he lost the
election. The same person that ran on the Law and Order slogan, just
another lie.

Some things are far less expensive when you buy in bulk. I just bought three 1# bags of powdered guajillo chilies. If you keep them in a dark place, chile powders last a long time. I *do* use a lot of that stuff, and those little 4oz packets don't last long.

I've done the bulk buying thing over the years at ethnic stores (Asian, Indian, Mexican...) and also at Restaurant Depot. When I used to cook large amounts for entertaining it was worth it...now as a single I don't need such large quantities. You have peeps to cook for, so you will eventually use them...they look very "versatile"...

You don't need to toss it in the air, just get it relaxed and shape
it on the counter. Only if I can't get my relaxed after a couple
tries do I use a rolling pin and smash that fucker into submission.

Which contract? I was working for Lockheed at the time (1960), both
Boeing and Lockheed lost the supersonic transport to the French... not
because their version was better, it was cheaper. At the end no one
got the contract.

I never cared for recorded music. But I enjoy music played live on
real musical instruments. I can't stand electric instruments, most
especially 'lectric geetars, I don't consider that music any more than
rap is music. I'm used to real instruments because that's what I grew
up with, my father could play most any instrument, he could play from
written music and he could play by ear and could write music. My
brother was an excellent piano player and could play by ear and could
write music too... his idol was Liberace. My brother has owned a real
concert grand piano for all his adult life, Steinway... you'd have a
hard time determining whether it was him or Liberace playing, he had
the style down pat. He even tried to dress the same.
My father could play piano very well but he excelled on string
instruments; violin/cello, and was great with the harmonica.. could
even play the ukelele with the best of them... he specialized on the
mandolin.
Growing up all my friends played musical inruments, but not me. One
summer I rented a set of drums... I stunk on drums... my friends
wouldn't let me play with them, the best I could do was noise.
