Very handy :) We slept through ours too. Nothing happens here in the
bush when the clock strikes 12.

You think like this:
"I'm old so it's alright if I get covid and die. Give my vaccine to a
young person, even though they'd be over their covid in 2 weeks."

Now who's stupid?

Nothing beats asking real people. Unless you'd rather close newsgroups
and everybody goes to Google.

Maybe the library app also looks after expiry dates.

Can a Kobo reader read epub? The last time I was looking for a new
e-reader a few years ago, Kobo was a no go, because it locked you in
to something you didn't want to be locked into.

I don't know either. I download ebooks and sometimes I buy one. As
long as they're in epub format, my Kindle can handle them. And they
always are in epub format.

Let me repeat myself:

"Australia doesn't have much covid. That could change if the current
outbreak in Sydney gets out of hand."

So far we've been lucky, but of course it can happen.

The US has 20,000,000 cases per million people. Australia has 28,000
per million. In other words: Australia has 0.14% of the number of
cases that the US has. If that changes, people's attitude will change
too.

I also like that I'm not stuck with a paper book I'll never look at
again after I've finished it. We already have too much stuff.

You're right. I'll have to get rid of my Kindle in case we get a power
failure.

You'd have to let all your American customers sign a form that the
restaurant doesn't have to pay damages for burn wounds if they touch
the hot plate. Even if they do it accidentally.

Maybe it starts out rare and when the plate stops sizzling, it's
perfectly medium rare.

The better you can smell the chlorine, the harder it has to work to
make your water drinkable. Eew.
