Republicans want smaller government until they don't. They whine and
complain about big government, cut budgets of agencies that serve the
public and then scream that they aren't doing what they should be
doing, telling us they should be privatized - which is complete BS.
The fault lies at the feet of the Michigan governor (his staff was
notifying him of the problem) and his decisions. Now the little
weasel is blame shifting because he got caught in his own trap.
Michigan has a HUGE rainy day fund that can be spent on this mess, but
he refuses, and it's clearly apparent that the majority of
Michiganders think that's just fine. After all, they're lazy ass poor
people. It's their fault they're poor - so make them suffer since
they can't be deported.

Not just Michigan:

Although Sanders doesn't come off easily either.
The right wing parties in Canada are little different from your
Repuglicans. When in power, they reduce taxes, especially for the rich,
and go on spending sprees at the same time leaving huge debts when they
finally get kicked out. They are also all for cutting services, salaries
of teachers and front-line healthcare workers.

Quite the contrary. If one has not studied the issues and is just voting because a particular candidate looks good then it is one's duty NOT to vote.

Studying the issues is simply not an issue for many voters because they
are too hung up on the hyperbole and the misinformation. Some people
are still whining about Hillary's secret and deleted emails about
Benghazi despite their having been been a number of investigations into
the allegations and every one of them has cleared here. Let's not
forget that Republican funded organization of Swift Boat Veterans "For
Truth" who were used to cast aspersion in John Kerry's military
experience. The man had volunteered for service, volunteered for the
hazardous position with the Swift Boat unit. He was cited for heroism
and he was wounded three times, and he is very candid about the actions
that got him the medals were no big deal and the wounds were very minor.
Meanwhile... where the hell was G Dubya?..... safely back home.

That is about the only way I ever have it. It's good in a Reuben. Every
other use of sauerkraut is IMO a step down.

Thanks to Ed's advice about customizing Thunderbird's filters, I an no
longer getting the cross posted messages..... until some imbecile here
replies to them. It should be no surprise that 99% of cross posted
messages here are idiotic.

The only time a crossposting might be relevant is a crosspost to
kitchen equipment, possibly. When it goes to all these other kooky
places, we then get a whole bunch of other kooks responding and not
caring about crossposting either.

Actually, alt.bread.recipes can be valid as well.

yep. there is one individual who just doesn't get it and is compelled
to respond. I just right click the original message and delete. But
thanks to her I end up with the message quoted like it is a normal
person posting .

I would suggest that, sadly, they do care about crossposting. It is
their way of trying to get as many people as possible to see how idiotic
they are.

True enough, but I don't recall ever seeing that one the cross posted
crap. It is usually alt. something stupid. The 1% of legitimate cross
posts are lost in the myriad idiotic cross posts.

People don't always realize when they reply to one that it has been
cross posted. I learned the hard way to check. Now it is easier to
simply get rid of them ahead of time.

Mine doesn't put names on their olives, even if they did - I wouldn't
have any idea what they were (nor would I care) past Spanish, Italian
or Greek. I buy what appeals to me. Period. The only thing I need
to know is if they are pitted or not and that can be ascertained
visually.

Wow, vinegar works like magic! WAY better than lemon juice.

That method was mentioned in "Clean It Fast, Clean It Right." They also said not to use abrasive cleansers like Brasso (never heard of it), because at one culinary center, the brass-bottomed pots had to be replaced as a result of using it.

Oddly, Heloise's book didn't mention vinegar or lemon juice as cleansers.

BTW, the Consumer Reports book "How to Clean Practically Anything" said that if you're looking for an excuse NOT to clean the tarnish off, a dark surface transmits the heat better when cooking.

Yeah, there's a solution to what, for me, is generally not a problem;
it was just an aside.

> My main frustration with most online recipes for fresh sausage, wasw it

I don't remember JD's except I remember I liked it. Just had my first
of many sausages per your instructions and spice-level. I like the
spicing, but at 2 tsp per pound (1 Tb per 1.5 pounds) I found it milder
than I might have liked. The wife and I discussed it at length today
over breakfast. We concluded that A) people really expect sage in
breakfast sausage and B) this didn't have enough heat to be in the
"perfect' range. That said, we liked it a lot and don't think another
24 servings will be a burden. The anise seed gives a slight
implication of Chinese sausage which is kinda fun.

All that aside, I still have a few tablespoons of the spice mixture and
I think it could be thrown at damn near anything to make it more tasty.

> A bonus is frozen at that size, they can reshape will to meatballs for

That's a damned interesting thought. Especially since it's not
sage-dominant, it could easily go where Italian meat-balls generally
go; soup, pasta. My fat content is pretty high so I'm not sure how
well they'd hold up structurally, but the taste/flavor would work.

We don't have a micro. It's amazing and says something about our
