It's simmering on the stove as I write. Also, a dab of garlic paste mixed in. No salt added as I knew the black-eyed peas, Ro-Tel, and ham would have that added. I will wait to see if it needs any when I get a bowl of it. This makes enough for several meals and I still have leftover chicken pot pie so this will be all the cooking I will do for a few days. Debating on whether to make a small skillet of cornbread. |

Reason being, I made some baked pasta with meat sauce yesterday and there's still enough for three. I will make a salad and some brown rice. Gardener loves that brown rice for snacks! |

Sounds like a good meal! I added more garlic and whisky smoked black pepper to our 'stew' and it's perfect. |

I need to give them a try as I usually eat Bonne Maman jam/preserves. At the moment I've got a jar of Welch's Natural strawberry jam I'm trying to finish off. It is reeeeeeeeeally sweeeeeeeeeet. |

| "Julie Bove" <juliebove@frontier.com>: Feb 23 04:22PM -0800 I know this subject came up before. I thought they were no longer available for sale. But I noticed some stores selling other types of sprouts. Like micro-greens. I recently bought fresh bean sprouts at Winco and also at Sprouts. A new Sprouts just opened in Lynnwood. Both were re-packaged. |

| "cshenk" <cshenk1@cox.net>: Feb 23 06:04PM -0600 Cleaning out the fridge and using the last of the veggies! I used about 1.5lbs chopped zuccini and 1 28oz can diced tomatoes then added 2 14oz tomatoe ones with diced chiles. To this was added 1 cup mushroom (no name, looks like a fat enoki?) and 5 cloves fine chopped garlic. Then 1lb ground beef mixed with Vanoduvan blend curry (about 1TB) and 2 beef bullion cubes. About 3 cups of water and letting it simmer. It's a simple dish and back in my childhood, we'd have inacurately called it a 'ragout' but then, 'ragout' has so many versions, maybe it works. It's going with rice tonight. |
