If you're a pro-lifer and you consider abortion to be murder, then
men/women doesn't matter. Murder is murder.

I could never have an abortion unless it was a for serious medical
problem, but I will never judge anyone else, for whatever reason. That is
for them to decide.

Look at it this way: you guys have the most entertaining and
high-profile president. Nobody knows the PM of Canada or the
Netherlands, many people don't know May or Merkel, but everybody knows
Trump.

While still single? It would seem natural to many people to do things
in the order that we were raised to. I don't know how this generation
came to have such different priorities and practice. I confess to a
lack of sympathy when I see news reports about the need for day care sin
schools and colleges. They would not need that if they went through life
the way we were raised. The idea was to complete high school, go to
college or university, get a job, get married and then have kids together.

Some years back I knew a family on welfare. One daughter was on student
welfare because she couldn't get along with her family. She actually got
welfare and her own apartment and then spent most of her time at the
parents' house... the parents she didn't get along with, and she wasn't
in school much.

Mother and other daughter were attending college, ironically, to become
welfare workers. Part way through the first year of a two year course
the daughter sets off to get pregnant. Her boyfriend was such a loser
that he had to live with their family. The parents were quite
supportive. No wonder they are on welfare and doomed to stay on it.

OK put it round another way then. When they started people ate those
ghastly jellied salads etc. Their tastes have changed with the years,
why not McDogs.

As I said earlier, thank god I will not be here in another 30 years

Possibly, but also rape and incest, the cruellest cut of all they have
made! I find it very difficult to believe Daves theory that there are
women who use the system like a contraceptive - why would you put
yourself through all the paperwork, repeat appointments and then the
minor surgery when there are pills. There again, I don't see Alabama
offering free pills to women!

It's hard to name any war not fought in the name of religion. I also
believe taxes should be imposed on churches. Waaaay back when, before
computers anyway, the RC church sold a big strip of land downtown for
millions that they had never paid taxes on. I wrote a letter to the
newspaper saying I thought they should pay taxes and that if they
didn't they shouldn't expect to receive the same things as us such as
fire, garbage removal, road service etc. I think just about every RC
in Halifax phoned me! Most angry was the accountant for the RC church
in Halifax.

Yeah. It worked only so long as you kept it up.... or down, as the case
may be. When they do have sex they are so backed up with sperm that they
are even more potent. One of those wigglers is going to make it to the
target.

It was not until a court case in 1972 that all women were granted the

Sadly, it's true. I just shake my head when I see a young women with
multiple children of different racial combinations. It's not the
interracial sex that bothers me, but it obvious that she is just a baby
momma to a bunch of different guys and likely a welfare queen whose
decisions have severely limited her future opportunities.

I very much doubt there are many women who would use abortion as a
contraceptive. If your friend really exists and has had 5 abortions
then perhaps console yourself with the idea that she would not have
made a fit mother.

The thing about Spam is that its smokey, porky, flavor is a lot like the

Sure. I took a couple of medium white potatoes, peeled them, boiled
them until nearly done, cut them into three eights inch cubes and fried
them at medium in a little oil. While they were browning, I cut up a
couple of three eights inch thick slices of already cooked corned beef
and diced that into three eights inch cubes and added it to the
potatoes. I fried a egg over easy. Then I dumped the hash onto a plate
and laid the egg on top.
It's not really a recipe. Everybody does it different. Many add onions.
Many dice smaller. Many add other stuff. We all make a hash of it :)

My mother always used lard. She always complimented me on my pie crust
and wanted to know how I made it. I kept telling her it was the same as
hers, except that I used Crisco instead of lard. I think from now on it
will be 3/4 Crisco and 1/4 butter.

We had been getting imported asparagus all winter, but I was getting
tired of the stuff. The fresh local stuff is so much better. It is best
eaten ASAP after cutting.

One of the best retirement investments I have seen was my uncle. He and
my aunt had their own businesses and properties and were able to retire
early, though they ended up going back to work because they liked
working, which is probably why they did so well for themselves. The
liquidated all the assets up here and moved to Florida and he put his
money into annuities. As you know, annuities pay you a pension as long
as you are alive. It's a crap shoot. If you die early they keep whatever
is left over, but if you live a long time you keep collection. He died
about a year and a half ago about 6 months short of his 100th birthday.
He is one of the few who ended up with a lot more than he had put into it.
Dave Smith <adavid.smith@sympatico.ca>: May 21 10:48AM -0400

I don't know how American retirement investments work compare to Canada,
but cashing in that much looks like sheer folly. We can invest in
various retirement programs which are essentially tax deferral tools.
You don't have to pay income tax on it at the time it is invested but
you do when you cash them in. For most people, that means cashing in at
a time when your income is lower, so the tax rate will be lower.

If Kuthe's money is in a tax deferral plan he is going to find himself
in a much higher tax bracket and lose a huge chunk of that money.
