I like to discuss the concept of "other people".

While I do doubt her assertion, my point was she thinks steaming
vegetables is somehow wrong. Of course she'd never make something like
cauliflower gratin but if she did she'd attempt to use raw cauliflower
and then wonder why it burned to a crisp and no one would eat it.

Not "each to their own", but "to each their own."

I prefer it with water. Using milk always used to leave a watery
liquid that I don't get with water. If I had had some spinach on hand I
would have thrown some in.

That was what happened. It was yesterday that I had the left over steak
in scrambled eggs. It was in a restaurant last summer that she had an
order of steak and eggs. She had fried eggs, home fries and a small NY
strip steak. I have to say that it was a pretty good deal. It was just a
couple bucks more than my eggs Florentine, and it was a 7-8 oz steak.

I like it well enough. Normally I use it 2 ways:

1) not cooked, just sliced on a sandwich with mayo and lettuce.
2) potatoes, onions, cubed spam cooked in a hash meal
I like gramma's applesauce* on the side with that.

I usually buy the "25% Less Sodium" version.
*Gramma's applesauce - unsweetened applesauce (or fresh prepared
apples), chunky and sweetened with a bit of brown sugar only.
(no cinnamon)

Thanks, Gary:))) I have saved that. Oh and he doesn't like cinnamon
either:))

I love garlic eggplant with pork. It's a fast dish to make and there's no
sticking if you know what you're doing. Evidently, in the past, I've made
riced cauliflower. I don't remember how I did it. Must have been a bland
experience. :)

cauliflower though ... just saying .P

Looks nice, Sheldon, but I wasn't really looking for something made with
tomatoes. If I was, I'd probably make ratatouille. :)

PETA website, eh? Also a piece about McDonald's ONLY destroying
the planet, not fast foods in general.
You had a chance to say your piece and you blew it. Or was that
your personal article there?

I was looking for the part about cow farts (methane) destroying
the atmosphere and sure enough it was there. lol. Do you realize
that if we stopped eating beef, we would eat more beans for
protein and humans would fart more?

Also no mention about humans running out the fossil fuels at an
alarming rate and screwing up the atmosphere.

Proven here....you are a PETA nutcase and have lost all face.
Your intentions are good but you are an extremist. PETA's
international headquarters are here only 20 miles away. I've
dealt with them and they did nothing. They pick and choose their
battles.

You blame everything on McDonald's restaurants? Fool!

Continue to call me and others names. You sir, are nothing but a
fool, imo. Also maybe learn to value other animal lives, not just
the few that you pick and choose to try to save.

I agree with Steve and have always said that MdD burgers are very
different from other burgers. Completely different animal and
taste. I just happen to like that different taste so will buy
some occasionally. Normally, I'll make my own or goto a better
restaurant.

Similar to canned tuna vs fresh grilled tuna steak. Not the same
at all.

Unlike Sheldon, I really DID start eating there when hamburgers
cost 15 cents each...back in the very early 60's. Fries cost 12
cents. Just a burger and fries once per week. That's what I spent
my young allowance on along with a comic book or two. (12 cents
each then)

Haven't tried or heard of a Famous burger unless you mean a plain
hamburger.

"the bun was ghastly?" LOL That's funny. Did you take one bite
and vomit? ;)

The other hamburgers tend to have some taste and texture.

They arrived here later. I had them a couple times when I was working in
the road. They didn't have much flavour and the texture sucked. The
worst part was the big mac attack 15-20 minutes later when the explosion
went off in my guts.

Also, $25 to feed just three kids is a joke too.

I used to work with a guy who would make comments about stinking of
curry. I always wondered what he meant, because I like the smell of curry.

>Meanwhile, the instances that abortion-rights supporters tend to focus on accounted for a tiny percentage of the overall abortions in Florida last year. Fewer than 1.5 percent of the abortions were in cases where a woman's physical health was threatened, fewer than 2 percent were in cases where a woman cited psychological-health problems, and fewer than .3 percent were in cases where a woman's life was in danger. One percent of the cases involved serious fetal abnormalities. Only .14 percent of women reported having obtained an abortion due to having been raped, and only .01 percent took place in cases of incest.

>A 2004 survey by the pro-choice research group the Guttmacher Institute confirms what Florida's data suggest, finding that just 4 percent of women who obtained abortions reported a physical-health problem, 3 percent cited possible fetal-health problems, and fewer than .5 percent were pregnant as the result of having been raped. The most common reasons women cited for obtaining an abortion were not being ready for a child or another child, or being unable to afford a child.

>These statistics expose a common falsehood promoted by abortion-rights activists, who insist that women never choose abortion frivolously and that most abortions take place in grave circumstances, such as cases when a woman's life is in danger or the fetus is too sick to survive after birth. In reality, a slim minority of women choose abortion for these reasons..."

It does work. No pregnancies or STDs with abstinence. If only we could
eliminate the sex drive so that people could remain abstinent. Fact is
that the sex drive is part of our animal existence. It is a drive
reduction mechanism designed to ensure the survival of the species.

I came across some disturbing information a few years back about safe
sex practices among young people. I don't remember the exact figures
but an alarmingly high number of young people thought that they were
practicing safe sex if they used a condom 10% of the time.

Ophelia, an even more ignorant male lawmaker comment was the Missouri man
who claimed
their very restrictive abortion law was intended to apply to women who
didn't yet know they
were pregnant.

Did these no-nothing males finish high school? Didn't they have any kind of
"health education,"
class? Oh, wait...Missori and Mississippi are teo of the most backward,
repressive, "barefoot
and pregnant" states in the U.S. I don't know why I even asked.

Overturning Roe v. Wade...when the rest of the civilized world is becoming
more and more
willing to acknowledge women's rights...will be just another reason to make
us a laughingstock
on the world stage.
