Spaghetti with homemade red sauce (no meat this time)
Along with a nice cold tossed salad.
Mix of mayo and ketchup for dressing on the salad.
That dressing mixes well with the red sauce.
A bit of parmesan cheese on all.

Leftovers of the same will be lunch today too.

Do you mean to say you let them touch? Gasp!

I had a tossed salad dressed with cider vinegar, a shake
of Penzey's Forward spice blend that I got as a sample,
and EVOO. A ham sandwich on rye with mustard on one side
and mayo on the other.

Today is lunch out. Greek salad and warm bread dipped in
EVOO.

You're out of touch.

Abortion is also now available as pills to be taken at home, no
need for repeat appointments, hospital admission or surgery. In the link
up-thread Florida refers to that as "chemical abortion" .

https://lozierinstitute.org/abortion-reporting-florida-2018/

"Chemical abortions made up 44 percent of total Florida abortions in
2018"

which is borne out by this

"The majority of abortions were performed early in pregnancy. Seventy-
two percent occurred at six weeks of gestation or earlier, and an
additional 13 percent were performed between seven and eight weeks of
pregnancy."

One fifth of women had two or more abortions

"More than half (56 percent) had no prior abortions. A quarter had one
previous abortion, and 19 percent had two or more."

OTOH, abortion is not an option for my wife and I'm glad of that. We thought it was an option up until she got pregnant. As it goes, you never know what you're gonna do until you're forced to make a choice. When the time came, we saw our path with absolute clarity.

Easy for them -they had a CHOICE ! Nobody is saying anyone must have
an abortion but they have no right to tell anyone else they can't.

I agree. I'm only saying that if I had been personally involved, I'd
have voted against abortion. I wouldn't send a stray dog or cat away,
let alone a child.

I would say that there is no way one can put oneself in a womans
position of an unwanted pregnancy. I felt a desperation when I
thought I was pregnant just after we decided to stay in Canada. The
timing was all wrong and I had three children already to consider. As
it turned out, it was a false alarm but I've never forgotten how I
felt, a form of desperation. Back then the only hope for a safe
abortion was Sweden or Japan, both out of the question for me.

That's a good view too. Teen guys always try to "get some" every
chance they can (I did) but I can certainly understand a teen
girl's fear of having sex. If I had grown up as a girl, I would
never have full sex until I was married and felt secure. No way.
Too much risk. Just one night of fun could result in a lifetime
of commitment plus you can't count on the father's support
either.

If you ever have children, you might rethink that once they
become teenagers and start to break away. lol. They do get a bit
annoying and worrysome at that point. ;)

I've been personally involved in two abortions.

First was with a girlfriend around 1975. Doctor told her she had
a tipped uterus so couldn't get pregnant. She told me that and
that we didn't need to take precautions. Sure enough though, she
got quickly pregnant. Well, she didn't want it so decided on an
abortion right away. I didn't argue as it was HER body so who am
I to complain. Neither of us was ready for all that anyway.

She asked me to pay half (of about $250 at the time, I think) and
drive her there and back. It was a long, weird day for me. We got
there at 8am and didn't leave until 4PM. I sat in the waiting
room all that time thinking about what we were doing. In a way,
having a baby was kind of cool but yet, she didn't want one then.
Again, who was I to argue? I did have mixed and conflicting
thoughts about it all though.

Second time was when I was married and my wife got pregnant again
(unplanned). This turned out to be an ectopic pregnancy though
(fertilized egg attached to the fallopian tube rather than
uterus). That is definitely a life-threatening one so that was
done with no regrets.

Still though. It's often true that you might think you know what
you would do in a certain situation. Sometimes when finally faced
with that situation, you might think differently.

IMO, abortions might very well be a good thing but none of them
are followed up with a celebration. You're always left with
questions and doubts.

Roe v Wade should stand. A woman should have the only/final vote.

With this current trend, it's time we make churches pay income
tax just like everyone else does. It's nonsense that they have
been tax-free all this time.

A D&C is not an abortion. The term Pro-Choice means that you support
a woman's right to choose but acknowledge the right of others to not
support abortion. Bruce, it is time for you to get educated before
you speak up about this.

Oooh! I like fiddleheads! A couple of decades ago a former RFC poster
who lived in Maine shipped some to me after he and his son picked an
abundance of them. IIRC they tasted a little bit like asparagus.

They do taste a bit like asparagus. If you like asparagus who will
likely enjoy fiddle heads. If you don't like asparagus you should
probably not bother. I am in a bit of a bind. I like both. Both come
out at the same time of the year. They taste a lot alike.Fiddleheads
cost at least twice as much per pound as asparagus and they are dense
little things, so a couple small servings of them will cost more than a
pound of asparagus. Asparagus wins on price.

Well, after probably 3 years, I finally made one last Friday. Oh
so yum. It's always been one of my favorite meals. So good, I
finished it all up by Sunday.

So, Monday I bought 3lbs again while still on sale and made a 2nd
one.

Here's what I did:

- 3 lbs 73% ground beef (Sheldon's mystery meat)
- 2 large eggs
- 2.5 hamburger buns, torn into small pieces
- 5-6 yellow onions, chopped up. (I do love onions)
- generous amount of worcestershire sauce
- little bit of ketchup (inside, not on top)
- salt and pepper

Mixed all that together by hand then formed into a large loaf in
a 9X13 foil-lined pyrex baking dish. Topped it with all the
ketchup it could hold. That ketchup browns and carmelizes and is
good topping.

Baked at 350F for about 75 minutes.

Complain all yoose want to but I'm quite happy with this. It's so
delicious.

Serve with potato and some gramma applesauce. A green veggie side
is good too. Or corn.

Nor would you Squirt recognise a genuine pizza. You wrote this nonsense
not long ago:

"Eggs on pizza is a Genu-wine Associazione Verace Pizza".

However Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana (AVPN) approves only two
types of pizza and neither use egg.

I even copied Article 1 of their regulations so you could read the facts
for yourself:

"The use and recognition of the of the typical product "Verace Pizza
Napoletana" is limited to two types of Pizza: Marinara (tomato, oil,
oregano, and garlic) and Margherita (tomato, oil, mozzarella or fior di
latte, grated cheese and basil)."

I also gave a link to the orignal document:

http://www.pizzanapoletana.org/public/pdf/disciplinare%202008%20UK.pdf

Putting eggs on a pizza must come from your mentality of using far too
many toppings and then praying the ensuing mix-up tastes vaguely alright.
It rarely does. It was all said in this message:

I like it well enough. Normally I use it 2 ways:

1) not cooked, just sliced on a sandwich with mayo and lettuce.
2) potatoes, onions, cubed spam cooked in a hash meal
I like gramma's applesauce* on the side with that.

I usually buy the "25% Less Sodium" version.
*Gramma's applesauce - unsweetened applesauce (or fresh prepared
apples), chunky and sweetened with a bit of brown sugar only.
(no cinnamon)

Thanks, Gary:))) I have saved that. Oh and he doesn't like cinnamon
either:))
