The central hot water heat in Sweden is some kind of marvel as is the educational and health systems. That it's probably paid for through taxation doesn't change that.

Why are you ranting, you don't even own a garage.

This house was built by a Norwegian who was an old school master
carpenter who turned trees off this land into building lumber, every
stick of it, no plywood or partical board, all 1" X 6" tongue and
groove sheathing applied at 30ยบ over full size studs, all 2" X 6"s are
full 2" X 6"s... as are all joists full size too. I have photos of
this house being built (supplied by the original owner) but I still
need to scan them. This house was built by the last owner's wife's
uncle, he built nearly every house on this road including many other
buildings nearby.

Oh, I paid all cash too, with money I earned myself... I held a
responsible job all my life, you never had a job and you still don't
have a job, because you possess no marketable skills and are totally
irresponsible... Kootche will be burried a homeless pauper.

Oh, that sounds very nice.

My house was built by a stonemason for his family to live in. Some
of the carpentry is a little sketchy, but the pointing on the fieldstone
is gorgeous.

You're changing the topic again. If you can't handle being wrong,
don't make silly statements.

You are and you can't handle it. Work on that.

More importantly, ferrets love it.

This would be true if one believes that the only people that matter are the ones with money.

You think it's not true? I never said it was desirable, but it's a sad
fact in the U.S. that people without money are screwed.

I probably watched that show too. It was no big deal to me. These other guys were on a few years later and their appearance was a highly anticipated event for me. Then a few years later, I saw the group live. It was kind of awful. That's life for you. :)

Oh very ! I have several hundred albums saved as MP3 files and other
formats on my computers . But there's just a certain something about
analog sourced music , a warmth if you will , that is just not present
in digital files . I also have several hundred albums on vinyl , reel
tape and (cough) cassette .

I pray for you Sheldon. No, not really, I think we know the simple power of nature and you set a good example.
If you were in the navy, happy memorial day to you and your lost friends.

I am totally connected, wi fi, phones, alexa etc but get one call a week and call out one a month. My att bill was 126 for 2 smart phones, 4 tablets, roku and a bunch. My tv was 166. I hate tv but att says my town is to small to provide internet. If needed, I can close it all down but at this time I enjoy the noise when I want it.

just heading out now to go to Albertsons to pick up some ground beef
and a couple of hamburger buns. It looks like it may be an o.k. day
here although 25 mph winds predicted to later in the day.
