The first morning in our Washington state apartment was a bit chilly. I had never experienced a rug being icy cold. It was a real eye-opener. My complaints to my wife fell to the ground like shattered icicles. She did remind me that this was a moderate climate region. Ha ha, that was funny. |

It sometimes gets down to 0 F, or maybe little colder in winter. Many years ago I went out to Winnipeg to look for work. I got off the plane and walked out into -40. Holy shit. That was cold. I didn't look very hard for work because I didn't want to live there. That was just too damned cold for me. |

Electric is often 2X or 3X the cost of gas to operate. If you change over to all electric you will have to upgrade your power coming in also. Not to mention, electric pollutes more than gas. |

There were three more monumental events that occurred in 1964. 1. I graduated from high school. Say it all together, "Yay!" 2. We were the last class in my high school before dope was introduced. 3. It was the first year that the "Great Society" started to erode us. leo |

Dole makes a kind of expensive (over two bucks) four pack of pre-made fruit jellos. They should be in the canned fruit section of a supermarket that carries Dole. They have mandarin oranges in orange gel, peaches in strawberry gel, mixed fruit in cherry gel and mangoes in mango gel. Look for "Gel" on the package if interested. I love 'em all. Of course, anyone could make these things, far cheaper. Have I ever made Jello? I can't remember, but I bet I could if I wanted. On a side note, I really should make some ambrosia or watergate salad some time. I really liked that stuff. Why am I not eating it now? leo |

If you want fruit in it you'll have to wait until it's starting to jell before adding. Ambrosia and Watergate salad are two of my favorites! For some reason ambrosia only seems to show up around Christmas. |

I smoked some ribs yesterday, will do a rotisserie chicken tomorrow. The lanai is screened so no bugs either. Many other times though, it is just the same to use the range in the comfort of AC. In nice weather we like to eat outside too, but the past week has been hot so meals are inside. We won't be spending much time out now until probably September. I like creature comfort. |
