Looks good to me, too. Sometimes snacky-food is best for gatherings.

LOL Feel free to do that if you make it at home for just yourself and
your wife. The person who scarfs down every little snacky appetizer
thing at a gathering and asks for more is not invited back.

I love something oniony. Bet that went over very well.

I loved the idea of the small pastry pockets with onions. I am not a
huge fan of the texture of onions but I'd have given those pastries a
try. :)

I discovered the ultimate snacky-food a month or two ago. My son was on
his way to our place and would be passing a particular pizzeria and
asked if I would like him to pick up a facaccia sandwich for lunch.
Sure. I had no idea what he meant, but said yes. It turned out that this
place takes a party pizza size faccacia bread, splits it in half, puts
layers of cold cuts, cheese and shredded lettuce with dressing, lays the
top back on and cuts it up into squares.

They only sell the individual sandwiches at noon but you can order a
whole sheet.... about twice the cost of a party tray pizza, but a much
better deal. I was telling a friend about it, and having grown up in
that city, he knew about it and said he and his wife often buy a whole
one when entertaining a crowd.

Ha... like my niece and the time she dropped in on her step sister, who
was getting ready to entertain a bunch of people she had invited for a
pool party. BN ate all the food before the guests arrived.

I surely would appreciate it if you would give the exact name of the
insurance, insurance company and your insurance agent.

First you have to join AARP and get their magazine and hence, their
advice and recommendations. According to the ads I see on TV, they
steer you towards The Hartford. That's who is advertising with AARP at
the moment. Cheap cell phone service, too. Just join AARP. Nope.

I joined AARP to get the good rates on the Medicare Supplemental policies.
But I get no magazines or any e-mail from them recommending car insurance or
cell phone service. BUT, there's always a but, monthly premiums depend on
what state you live in. I had looked at BlueCross/BlueShield at the same
policy and it was $10 more per month. Going with AARP's United Healthcare
saved me one months premium; in other words it was like paying for 11 months
vs. 12 months with BC/BS.

No matter who sells these policies they are all the same across the board,
the only difference is the premium each company can charge.

no problem, I have joined off and on over the years. I just am really
challenging the particulars Sheldon offered cost vs. coverage. AARP
isn't so bad. You get a magazine. Throw it away when it shows up and
there is nothing else to bother you. At least I can't recall getting
anything else from them. My cell phone plan with Tracfone is better
than theirs.

I did not read that dissertation but I DO appreciate the paragraph breaks.
That was the first thing that caught my eye. Keep up the good work!!

I just heard a statistic on The Weather Channel. In the last 30 days,
500 tornadoes have been "sighted" on the ground. Not Doppler, actual
sightings. Holy Moly!

Yes, there have been a lot of tornados. There was even one reported in
Savannah, GA last month. It destroyed a marina where they were about to
have some boat races. Tornados are almost unheard of here in this part
of the south.

they are almost unheard of out in my state as well yet one touched
down west of my city. Weather Channel warned in advance and drivers
on the road got photos with their dashboard cameras.

Motorists might get a little more respect if THEY behaved as well!

When I was in high school we had our choice of French, Spanish, or Latin or
none if you didn't want to learn a foreign language. I chose none as it was
not compulsory.

Dave, I see that going by my door 365 days a year. I live two blocks from a
city park. At the end of my street is the dark park and community center and
they're pushing a stroller, dog leash in one hand and it's on the stroller
handle. The other hand has the cell phone that they are checking/reading.
But it's not just the mom's, I see the dads doing the same thing.

I like Plochman's stone ground out of Chicago. I've used it since I
was growing up in Wisconsin. It can clear your sinus ;)
