And GARY gets today's GRAND RFC PRIZE... ;-) You are correct, in fact he first modern high - fidelity recordings were an outcome of WWII submarine sonar, here ya go: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Decca_Records#Full_frequency_range_recording_(ffrr) Technology developments [Decca Records, UK] Full frequency range recording (ffrr) "Full frequency range recording (ffrr) was a spin-off devised by Arthur Haddy of British Decca's development, during the Second World War, of a high fidelity hydrophone capable of detecting and cataloguing individual German submarines by each one's signature engine noise, and enabled a greatly enhanced frequency range (high and low notes) to be captured on recordings. Critics regularly commented on the startling realism of the new Decca recordings. The frequency range of ffrr was 80–15000 Hz, with a signal-to-noise ratio of 60 dB. While Decca's early ffrr releases on 78-rpm discs had some noticeable surface noise, which diminished the effects of the high fidelity sound, the introduction of long-playing records in 1949 made better use of the new technology and set an industry standard that was quickly imitated by Decca's competitors. Nonetheless titles first issued on 78rpm remained in that form in the Decca catalogues into the early 1950s. The ffrr technique became internationally accepted and considered a standard. The Ernest Ansermet recording of Stravinsky's Petrushka was key in the development of full frequency range records and alerting the listening public to high fidelity in 1946..." </> |

Another opened up a few years after that in a location about 15 miles in the other direction. Then about 5 years ago one opened up across from a mall only 4 miles from here. It has become a go to store for me for tools and garden supplies. I have been there a lot in the last month or so because it was one of the few stores open. |

| Bruce <bruce@null.null>: May 08 10:44AM -0400 As reported weeks ago — in mid April Dr. Fauci admitted that it was he and Dr. Birx who persuaded President Trump to lock down the US economy knowing the massive destruction this would cause in jobs, lives and commerce. President admitted that during a press conference in April that "two very smart people" came into his office and urged him to lock down the economy or 2.2 million Americans would die from the China virus. But President Trump did not say who those "two very smart people" were. **Dr. Fauci later admitted he persuaded the president to shut down and kill off the US economy.** https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2020/05/huge-news-dr-fauci-dr-birx-used-imperial-college-model-now-confirmed-complete-fraud-persuade-president-trump-lock-entire-us-economy/? |

Yes Bruce, we know that you didn't say that. However, no matter what has happened, no one was ready for this mess so to pass blame is dumb to me. The oddest thing is who ever would have guessed the toilet paper thing. WTH? Very odd priorities of what to buy first. And obviously, people to stay home and not work plus so many companies closed down will destroy any economy. I suppose this is why so many are getting rid of stay-home restrictions. If we all stay at home forever, if we don't die from the corona virus, we'll all become homeless and die from starvation. And die with filty unwiped butts. |
