That sounds logical enough. Maybe it's true. Maybe it's not. There's
been too many false statements, rolled back, for me to have much confidence
in what "experts" are pushing today.
I want to be an "expert". I bet they make a lot of money for not much
work. I think that making a good living as an "expert" exobiologist or
cryptobiologist would be the perfect scam.
One or the other, who knew anything, might actually be useful right now.

He has been charged with third-degree murder.

"without intent to effect the death of any person, caus[ing] the death of another by perpetrating an act eminently dangerous to others and evincing a depraved mind, without regard for human life"

For my part, I'm more pissed at the three other officers who stood by and
watched and the Minneapolis Police Department. Any one cop can get
carried away, but his fellow officers should have intervened.

Even knowing that citizens baselessly file complaints about police
officers, the man has a history of using force. The department should
not have put him back on the street without re-training.

I don't exactly like it, but my immediate supervisor is a good guy and
a fine programmer.

As far as the guy at the top goes, better he should have the responsibility
and headaches of running a business than me. I do my job, go home at night,
and the only thing that keeps me from my rest is mulling the clever little
puzzles I have to solve when writing software.

Rather than "patriotic" I would say "jingoistic".

I don't feel like a subordinate. I rarely am told what to do; I just
see what needs to be done and do it. I've been with the company longer
than anyone else in my department, including my boss and the guy at the top.

About as far as it goes is my boss says, "I'd like to release the next
update on June 5", and I do everything that I need to in order to meet
the deadline, as does everyone else in the department. It's a small
company and everybody has his bailiwick. When a task comes in, there's
usually no question about who will do it.

I want to have a bailiwick too. Or maybe I do and don't know it.

I don't have my notes on the potato rolls with me, but if you can get
hold of a copy of 'The Joy of Cooking', there are a couple of potato
bread recipes there.

My Grandfather was wounded in WW1, seriously enough to be sent back to
England. However, I have no idea which battle and neither did my father
as GF never talked about it.

I never did and I've been out nearly 50 years. Only with other veterans.
One can find lots of interesting conversation at their local VFW. Lot's

My guess is that mankind will have to come to grips with quantum superposition in it's quest for quantum computers. In the future, we'll be able to utilize multiple states of atoms and quantum entanglement just as we're able to control electronic states in pieces of silicon. At that time, we shall be as Gods.

We'll all be dead or risen soon after Armageddon, which starts on July,
22nd, according to Lori Vallow. There's not enough time to engineer
quantum entanglement. Make peace while you can. If the End of Times starts
then, I will believe in Her.

When we heard that Uncle Un had launched a missile at us, my wife and I waited it out in bed. I'll be sure to sleep-in on July 22. I just know that it's gonna be a whole lot of fun.
