That looks great. Maybe Salade Nicoise-esque is in my future. "-esque" means
no potatoes or tuna. I usually wait for summer, but perhaps I could find
some decent-looking haricots vert.

I am really not much of a salad eater, but I once had Salad Nicoise for
lunch in a nice restaruant (no pun intended) and I really enjoyed it. If
I were to see it on another menu I would likely order it again. If it
weren't salad I might actually make it myself.

I never buy groceries at WM. Yes, it's a "Super" WM. I did wander
through the grocery section early last year (waaay before anyone ever
heard of Covid-19) just to check it out. There was practically no meat
to speak of in the meat cases, very little in the way of dairy products.
The freezer cases were nearly empty. They did have a nice selection
of fresh vegetables (which surprised me) but overall, it certainly
didn't inspire me to make it a regular stop for groceries.

Fresh from the garden asparagus, white bean, and pea salad with a simple lemon and oil dressing and fresh chives.

Also, good old twice-baked potatoes with some fried onions and garlic mixed in, shredded sharp cheddar on top, broiled.

Looks very nice, even if I don't care for salads. That asparagus is
gorgeous! :)

You are correct in that I've never heard of vitiligo.
A very sad condition and obviously they would want to
use makeup. There are so many diseases and sydromes that
not everyone is awhere of unless they or someone they know
has the issue.

And even those 2 women were wearing lipstick in the
before and after pics and *that's* what we were talking
about. You know darn well that I refer to the average
woman wearing makeup, not some extreme cases.

Try posting a pic of a pretty woman with and without makeup.
I can do that if you're stubborn.

A "bit of makeup?" She obviously sprayed her entire face
with a makeup airbrush. (only 29.95 and get a second one
for a separate fee). Even that picture is not before and
after about wearing lipstick.

And yes, she is a pretty girl. I have no problem with her
'before' picture. I would much rather date or live with her like
that than live with full fake makeup face. Her natural
look is fine with me.

And if it bothers her, she could cut her hair
into bangs to hide her forehead.
Yes Joan, even her natural looks are better than her
full face makeup deal to me. She still could lose
the damn red lipstick. That's my issue.

Bright or bold unnatural color lips definitely draw the
attention to the lips. Why? Because they are fake looking.
Reminds me of Cheshire Cat in "Alice in Wonderland."
The cat fades out leaving just the smile.

Ok, I think we've established that different people have different taste
in women (with or without makeup).

Stop the presses.

Next thing someone's going to tell me that not everybody likes cilantro.

That must get confusing if they're out someplace and every woman looks
like his wife! ;)

Yabbut... no one pays much attention to that site anymore. After Cheri
died I sent email to Chatty Cathy several times asking her to update the
'In Memoriam' section with Cheri's info. Never happened. :(

They need more chains in their den, for tying up cats.

Nothing more lovely than sheets dried in the wind. Can't do it here
in the condo and I do miss that. I don't understand people who put
all these 'perfumed' sheets in the dryers, they don't seem to realise
they are going to bed with all sorts of nasty chemicals!

I pictured little hoodlums (think 'West Side Story') carrying chains. ;)

I agree about the dryer sheets. I don't understand the scent booster
crystals they sell to put in washing machines, either. Chemicals aside,
they stink to high heaven!

I'll differ on the "sheets dried in the wind". But I don't use dryer
sheets and I use unscented laundry detergent.

I can always tell when my neighbors 200 feet away are doing laundry. Nasty.

I've never heard them called checkstands either but I knew
what it was.

I've always said or heard "check out lines" even if there
is no line and cashiers.

"check out line" I'd have understood, since it's the line before you
reach the checkout chick.

Good attempt child! Unfortunately, you're too young to see very much
clearly. It's a matter of growing up. You'll get there! I have faith in
you. Geography, population density and pre-covid travel patterns are your
next assignments. Do me proud.

You're not really saying anything. You just produce a few keywords and
that's it. You haven't done me proud yet at all.

I don't want to make you proud. I want to give you the tools to think
clearly for yourself and make me proud. Raising an obstreperous kid by
proxy and remotely is difficult.
Good Lord! Look at the time!

That's all great, but in the meantime you still haven't said anything
useful.

You know Americans are tight with money.

Although we have a one-dollar piece, there aren't that many in circulation.
Almost everybody uses paper money for $1 on up.
