Hold on here!
Don't you live in Nashville?
So you drove 65 miles (one way) to stop by a Walmart for corn
and paper towels?

I've always enjoyed those puzzles best. Fun to do.

Those kids should be wearing masks. Maybe they're waiting
for Donald to tell them to do so.

After burgers for lunch, we didn't feel like a big dinner.

Salad dressed with red-wine vinaigrette and a piece of cheesy garlic toast.
(Toast a slice of bread, rub with a cut garlic clove, butter lightly [heh],
lay on a little provolone and top-brown in the toaster oven until bubbly.)

I've never understood 'rub with a cut garlic clove". To me that's like
having a glass of wine by sniffing it. Smells nice, but gimme the real
thing!

You can pretty much dispense and entire half a clove of garlic onto a
piece of toast by rubbing--in essence, using the toast as a grater.
How much garlic do you want on your garlic toast?

I agree. Sounds like a very minimal garlic taste.

Have you ever roasted a whole garlic bulb?
It tones down the taste and turns the bulbs somewhat
creamy and you can squeeze it out and spread on toast
just like butter

There's even a middle eastern clay thing made to
roast whole garlic. I used to have one. Maybe I still
do?

Yes. I don't like roasted garlic.

I'd rather have a sharp garlic taste and some real butter.

Yes, I was talking about right here only because I live
right here and our weather was so nasty.
And sw (Mr.Knowitall) is wrong...they didn't have any
"file footage" notes under the videos shown.

This morning's local news (ABC) showed more about the
weekend at the beach. This time showing cloudy grey
weather, very few people on beach or boardwalk and
also eating outside at some boardwalk cafe's. Some
were wearing masks, all were dressed warmly, jackets
and sweatshirts. That's "real news."

But then they did another fake one briefly.
Quick story about our Governor visiting Va.Beach this
weekend. Sunny and warm day. He was in short sleeves
and many people all around in shorts, etc. He was
standing in a crowd greeting and talking with people.
Not a single mask to be seen.
And NO, Stevey, again no "file footage" caption.

Anyway, same damn miserable weather today and also
predicted for tomorrow.

Right now (6am Tuesday):

from the time you click on it.

I haven't seen true sunshine here for about 10 days now
and more grim days to follow... WTH?

And you wouldn't. The Virginia Beach news only appeared
on our local news reports.

The national news only showed other beaches around
the country (and world). None about Va.Beach that
I saw.

This isn't the first time you've done this either.
Remember when you claimed I was illegally stealing
clams and oysters from the state park?

You even Googled the state park's rules to prove
that you were right. That one was even too funny to
respond to, so I let it drop.

I am well aware of Oz, three sets of relatives there, two in NZ, I
meant that while the virus hit us it was during our winter, whereas
down under they had summer weather, now that is reversing and it will
be interesting to see if our stats decrease and theirs increase, in
which case we should be prepared for next winter here.

Masks are not to prevent the wearer from catching the disease. They
help protect everyone else if the wearer has undiagnosed COVID-19.

Stay up to date, please, Scientific Cindy. Now they're saying masks
protect you for 75%.

That masks are big virus collectors and that they should be avoided at
all cost?

And they impair breathing, leading to other problems. (that has already
been said).

I don't get the need to be in close contact with a lot of people for
play, like at a water park (or the line to get into the water park).
Work, essential shopping is different, and should be done as prudently
as possible, but not shut down entirely.

I don't know of any place where essential shopping has been shut down.
But the more countries underestimated this in the beginning (US, UK,
Brazil, Russia), the worse it's becoming.

When this started, around here the stores were packed with no virus
protocol. I stayed away. Stocking up at Costco and exposing yourself
to who knows what made no sense.

Yes, you never know when you walk into the wrong person. I wish we
could order everything, but we can't.

Tastes vary. My barbecue sauce uses, for each cup of catsup, 1/8 cup
lemon juice and 1/8 cup cider vinegar (plus other flavorings, of course).
Some of that acid is driven off as the sauce cooks down, but it still
ends up plenty tangy.

It turns out that beef prices are just capitalism in action. Here's the
left-of-center view:

And here are the numbers:

Nothing to see here. Just the invisible hand of the market doing its thing.
