Makes sense. Sometimes you can't even figure out how to make your own computer work, even with all those degrees. You have to take it to a shop and let blue collar guys fix it for you. |

Kevin Bloody Wilson, an Aussie lad, explains our differences in "The Pubic Hair Song". It's on YouTube, but I won't provide a link. There is the ultimate dirty word sung several times and with an outright racial theme. Some in this group may experience extreme offense, and I won't be a party to that. Do NOT google the song and click on the YouTube link. You're welcome. leo |

I'm not sure what you're saying, but wog isn't particularly offensive. (Except these days, now that everything's offensive.) It's also not racist. White Australian Italians and Greeks are wogs and are of the same race as white Anglos. (Phew, I added the word 'white' twice, just in time!) |

I suspect you've forgotten just about everything you learned for those degrees after 20 some years, not using it and not keeping up with technology. Your degrees now are nothing but yellowing pieces of paper in frames on your wall. > Makes sense. I knew a guy that used to fix computers (in the hardware sense). He had only one arm though. That must have been a bit of a challenge. To learn how a computer works (software), learn assembly language. That brings programming down to almost basic level and really gives you an understanding of what is actually going on. The higher level languages just do all the dirty work for you and make it easier. |

No offense Carol. Would be nice to meet you there someday in the future but right now EVERYONE might have cooties and I'm not going to a new store to look around and explore for an hour or more. I shop a grocery about every 2 weeks and I go in with a list and get out fairly quickly. This is not the time to explore a new and unique place. :) |

So a few nights ago I cooked some yellow squash slices , dipped in flour with a little S&P , fried in about a quarter inch of veggie oil . It sucked . I mean it sucked so bad my wife commented on how lousy it was , which is VERY unusual . Not that I'm such a great cook , but I think mostly because she loves me and doesn't want to hurt my feelings . Fast forward to tonight and attempt #2 with the yellow squash . This time I coated he slices in flour as before , but this time I dipped them in an egg/water wash then into some white cornbread mix . DING DING DING , ladies and gents we have a winner . After I was done eating she went back and finished it off , which has me feeling pretty good . Or maybe the tequila is what has me feeling so good ... no matter , I feel good ! Snag == Lovely:) |

I was buying the jar of japanese miso dressing from costco and got sick of how gummed up the lid gets and, of course, it doesn't have a nice way to pour it. When I discovered how easy the ingredients are (I have them all in my kitchen), I stopped buying it. I make a small enough batch for the salad that evening and don't have to worry about storing. > I'll have to drop into the COOKING echo but for now, tell them you met > xxcarol. > I'm pretty well known for Dashi Udon Miso soups.
