Yes. And there are many good ones.
Cops mostly deal with the scum of society, black and white.
They know to be ready to get aggessive when necessary.

The current phrase, "Black lives matter"
should read, "All lives matter"

When necessary is the operative term.

It is not necessary to kneel on the neck of a handcuffed man for 8 minutes.
Or, for that matter, for any amount of time.

It is not necessary to knock elderly protesters to the ground.

It is not necessary to run across the street to mace protesters who were
shouting at police officers but offering no violence.

It is not necessary to shoot first and ask questions later.

Guns eh? I am very grateful it is not something we see/have here! We
have guns; only for sport! They are kept locked in a cabinet!

Even our police don't carry them, unless it is for a particular occasion,
when they are called in! It sound terrifying to see those being carried all
the time:(

You're easily terrified.

The only time I worry about police carrying guns is when they're getting
the shotguns out of the squad car trunk. Their regular holstered sidearms
are just ordinary.

In Australia, the first case of a Covid-19 infected participant in a
Black Lives Matter demonstration has been found. They have no way to
find out who that person infected during the demonstration. Virtue
signaling idiots.

The newspaper would be a good start.

I don't see police beating and killing black people in my daily life, either,
but I know it happens in the U.S., U.K., and elsewhere.

Yes, it does. And it is in no manner justified by all the crime
statistics anyone can churn out regarding race / income / whatever.

The particular case this time (Floyd's murder) is starting to look like a
case where everyone who worked with the cop was aware that he had a truly
malicious habit of choking people while arresting them. Malicious both
because it put genuine fear of death into all his victims AND it left no
bruises or other lasting physical evidence.

The officer will likely be convicted. Hopefully, some of the others will
also be convicted.

From a procedural point of view, do we charge the silent officers? If
they said nothing, they can always say they were too busy to notice he
was engaging in a dangerous prohibited practice.

For the officers who did tell him to let up, do you charge the ones who
said so right away, when Floyd was not yet in grave danger because he
still had ample time to recover? Or do you charge only the ones who piped-
up later but took no other action when it became clear even to the other
officers that Floyd's life was in danger?

If the whole troop was aware of the arresting cop's habit, surely there
must have been prior complaints. Surely there must have been disciplinary
actions to investigate said complaints. Surely some people fairly high-
placed must have their signatures on such documents somewhere.

Do not expect a quick resolution of this case. Expect instead additional
investigations at higher levels.

You may not see it but that does not mean it does not exist. Others see
it every day.

It's some where around 350 miles between Chicago and Cairo. I doubt
Greg knows how the locals pronounce "Cairo, IL".

On-boarding... I wish Americans would stop inventing new words where
they're not needed. Moving forward, that is.
