For some reason, many are terrified of genetically modified food. It's just modern science at work and moving on. I notice that vegetarians love the idea of fake meat grown from stem cells though. |

I used to cook pork chops in mushroom soup back in the day. These days it feels so retro to cook like that. We have a lot of cans of the soup because my son uses it in his green bean casserole. I was almost going to open a can for my hamburger steak but chickened out. As they say, "you can't ever go back again..." |

Preaching only makes sense from high to low, not the other way around. Read this slowly, use your finger to follow the words and remember it once and for all. And it's not only about painting, but > just as much about the preparation. True. The preparation before painting can make or break a job. Anyone can paint but not many know how to do it right. Good example: I always keep about 6 different primers in my truck. Each one is the best for a specific use. And for actual painting, ceilings and walls go fairly quick. It's the woodwork that is time consuming. |

Putting up new sheetrock and a full spackle job is a separate trade that very few house painters are capable of, nor would they do that, sheetrockers and spacklers are paid more than painters... wall paperers are paid more than painters too. For most home owners, unless old and feeble, painting is a DIY project. There are some painting jobs that require special skills, those that require rigging and climbing, like painting churches and bridges, but then those painters don't do much house painting, climbing jobs pay a lot more. Most people do their own painting, and newer houses don't require much painting, nowadays exteriors are done with colored siding, fences are in colors too, even decking no longer requires painting, it's made of colored fiberglass. When we moved here my wife and I painted everything ourselves, didn't take long and required no special skills, everything needed is readily available at the local Home Depot and Lowes. Actually the most difficult part of the job was lugging the gallon paint cans and being careful not to knock one over. I prefer painting with brushes, my wife prefers rollers so she did the ceilings. Calling a professional painter never crossed our minds, we even painted the new diesel tank ourselves. We had a carpenter install new exterior steel doors, the frames needed replacing, and we painted them. |

You made me go pick up a brush to check.(it's been awhile) Thumb and forefinger holding the brush on one side on the top of the wooden part of handle. The other 3 fingers on the back side on the metal part of the stock to hold it securely in your hand. Holding a brush that way is for all brush work, not just woodwook. Just as another note: Many size brushes used for various things. Most times though I'll use a 3" brush for ceilings and walls (and big flush doors). For most woodwork it's usually a 2 1/2" brush. Always buy good brushes too. The cheap ones will just slow you down and make it harder to do neat work. |

They were taken over by geckos, which were taken over by anoles, now the anoles are being replaced by gold dust day geckos. My wife found a big one in some flowers she was buying. The florist requested that she leave the gecko because they eat the bugs. They are some of the most beautiful lizards ever. I used to play with wolf spiders. They were quite cute. Those are gone too.
