Despite our misgivings, I suppose an objective tact would be for someone to ask him he has ever had an independent assessment of his taste sensing abilities. I would, but I gather that he deliberately ignores me. This happened ever since I (over-)reacted to a post where he disparaged the taste of McDonald's coffee after revealing that instead of drinking coffee, he prefers a coffee-based beverage with added sugar, milk, chocolate syrup, and cinnamon. Cinnamon is paradoxically a 'hot' spice, with quite a pronounced aroma. Professional coffee tasters do not mix anything with their work, but to be fair, they are all probably just 'normal' tasters. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coffee_cupping |
