No not large, only 1500 sqft and now it will have a renewed red clay tile roof, which is a 100 year roof. House was completed in 1930, so just shy of 100 years on the old one. In my experience, paying a premium is no guarantee of quality. But I assume they'll do a good job of it. I'm not in the same country, but in all seriousness just can't see the value in spending so much on a roof for what is a small and unremarkable house (that's not intended to be an insult, nothing wrong with such a house). Anyway, it's your money... |

Damn, 100K. Gone, just like that. You could have a hell of a good holiday for a couple of years with that money. |

Many things we buy are not worth the actual price yet we buy an expensive dinner or bottle of wine. Same thing but on a larger scale. The owner wants it and is willing to pay for the satisfaction of having it. Been to an art museum? I've seen paintings worth a million bucks and I'd pay you $10 to take out of my house. |

Google doesn't do binaries newsgroups, does it? There's still a demand for those. So why not offer the text groups as well then? That's much less effort. |

Google can offer binary newsgroups if they wanted to; they have the storage capacity and storage to do so They have bigger things on their plate. Fun fact: Gmail started as a direct result of Google Groups |

The kid is supposedly working on his masters. We didn't have personal computers and the internet when I was at university. A significant amount of my course load involved research and critiquing research methods, and I was TA for my thesis advisor in his course on experimental psychology. I just can't see there being any validity to polls distributed through Usenet groups. I am not going to click on that link to figure out why they are trying to bait people into clicking on it. |

Hahahahaaaa Last time I was due to renew I called and asked about a cheaper plan. I was looking to save a few bucks but them made ma an offer much better than I asked for, They gave me about 50% off the price. Then they sent me a coupon code for an Amazon Dot. In addition, I bought a small speaker that I could plug into it. I also have the Sirius app on my phone. I like to listen to music when I go to bed. I turn on the speaker that is plugged into the Dot. "Alexa, play SiriusXM channel XX" Once the music starts, I just say "Alexa, stop in one hour" and the music plays for the time I stated. I also have a plug for the system and a bedroom lamp plugged into it. Once in bed, "Alexa, turn off bedroom" and off it goes. My living room light is the same setup but set to go on and off at a set time, though I can do it by voice too if I want. https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B010OYASRG?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_dt_b_product_details Yeah, so Jeff Bezos knows what time I go to bed. |
