You know the wrong people. I still converse with my friends and co-workers.

You might consider getting off Usenet and finding some real people.

One of their biggest problems seems to be with being told that they have
to stay in. A lot of them are normally couch potatoes, but tell them
that they have to stay inside and they will come up with 50 reasons why
they need to go out, why the isolation makes no sense and how they are
losing their freedom.

I keep in touch with a number of people and have spent more time on the
phone in the last few months than I have over the rest of my life. My
wife has a friend that comes along on our dog walk every morning. I
have seen enough of Kuthe's nonsense rants here to understand why it is
impossible to have intelligent conversation in his house.

They just want to go and play pickleball. Give them a break.

You have no renters, thus you have no one to talk to. No renters,
no trips to the bank to deposit money. If you have a bicycle, go
for a ride. No bike, go for a walk.

They should pay her something so she could at least pay for some lunch. I suggest 5 bucks an hour.

I've had several bread machines. The only part I've had to replace was the bearing/seal for the paddle. There doesn't seem to be much else that wears out. I've used the bread machine to make mochi by using it to mash up sweet rice. It works fine. The main problem I have is finding filling for the mochi.

Two slices and 15 minutes for lunch is adequate compenation.

Inexperienced people can't stretch one pizza crust in about 3-4
minutes, professional pizza makers need about 2 minutes to
stretch/spin one pizza crust and about another minute to top it, and
10-12 minutes to bake and slice it.

My guess is that she's not going to be able to make pizza at an animal clinic. Yoose could certainly try, uncle.

i'd do that with peanut butter and jelly or just plain
peanut butter, but not butter and either of those. for
me butter and jam would happen on toasted bread.

we don't normally eat biscuits here, but when we do
i like those with butter most of the time and once in
a great while with butter and honey.

hmm, i guess i'm hungry as i haven't had breakfast
yet. :) wonder what i'll get into... :)

A favorite late night snack for me is just 6-8 saltines with peanut butter.

I don't know about it being brilliant. Thinner bags will definitely work
for short term freezing. I did specify that I was using it to vacuum
pack cheese, which cannot be frozen, it it would get moldy if loosely
packed with air inside the bag.

Cheese is one of the best uses for a vac sealer. Frozen is less
critical if you have a 30 to 60 day turnover. Vacuum sealed, I've had
cooked meat for over a year and it was as good as the day packed. For
thing I'm using in a month, just a plain bag works well enough.

We don't stockpile a lot of stuff in the freezer, so meats often go into
the freezer in the store packaging. Once in a while I get a deal on
things, like family packs or economy packs, so I split them up and use
the FoodSaver.

My wife loves this particular cheese but the produce market that sells
it closes from New Years to Easter. A whole block of that cheese is near
the top of her Christmas wish list. I cut it into 6 or more chunks and
vacuum pack them.

Raw cabbage cores are a cook's treat... pare away the outer part where
the cabbage leaves were attached, that part is bitter but the center
part is sweet and tender... we call that part the cabbage heart. There
are several parts of vegetables that are very good that many don't
think are edible; peeled broccoli stems eaten raw are excellent. I
feed the tough outer cabbage leaves to the deer but I reserve the
hearts for me.. cabbage grows very well here, typically 10-15 pounds.
One of my favorite veggies:
https://www.growveg.com/guides/how-to-grow-bulb-fennel/
I use the feathery fronds for a seafood stock, the thick stems make a
wonderful rack on an outdoor grill for cooking fish. The actual bulbs
are a fine cook's treat.
