I worked. We don't get federal holidays off unless they're _real_ holidays like
Thanksgiving, Christmas, Independence Day, etc.

We also get "Indigenous People's Day" off - that was once know as "Columbus Day"...

I generally refer to it as Native American Subjugation Day. With a good deal
of sarcasm.

I'm a true believer in social Darwinism. If a culture can't hold it's own, it deserves
to die. Even Western Civilization.

Normal people will take any job to keep going while waiting for a better
job to show up.

Heck, I might be as stupid as them. I have a landline Verizon phone.
Unlimited local calls but no long distant calls or text or other
features. I need to fix this.

Might soon join in with my daughter's plan. You get a free smart phone
to start with and unlimited talk (and long distant calls) and text and
way more 'internet stuff' than I would ever use...like apps or calling
uber, etc.

Their plan allows for up to 5 phones on the account and about $20 each
month for each one. That's about the best deal I've found.

I really don't think that's Greg.
I have a good guess but I'm not going to name a "guess."

I can tell who's the troll and real dave and real bruce but I have to
glance at every post first. It goes fast though. A killfile would get
rid of all but i don't want to "throw out the baby(s) with the bathwater."

I read posts sorted by time so a batch posting will keep you 3 separated
somewhat. I notice you do some of that lately and so does Mr.Troll.

I'll say again -
You should quit the Dave Smith addy and just use your own. That takes
him out of the loop. Once or twice a day, you could send a batch of
posts all at once. Keeps them all together when sorted by time. Maybe
each batch, use a different sig if you want.

Remember though, Bruce, you're not all alone with this mess. You are the
target but it equally affects all of us.

You're fast. I think I started doing that a bit yesterday.

That's no different from what is going on here now.
Use a new name and take real Dave out of the loop.
I'll still identify you and ignore the troll that follows you.

To (maybe) the horror of others here, I like your posts and look forward
to reading them. I consider you to be one of my "best friends" here on RFC.

We banter back and forth often about opposing issues but it's all fine.

Teasing has always been the norm between friends in my life and this is
no different. If I pick on someone, I expect to get picked on right back.

IMO, Real Bruce is no troll. Not at all.

Rather than people here trying to regulate Usenet, they should move on
to Facebook RFC and just "talk about food." Good luck with that.

You're guaranteed the right to speak, not a platform on which to speak.
If you were speaking on a public thoroughfare and someone came up and
incessantly shouted louder than you, that would be him using his free speech rights.

> Which Amendment is about freedom of speech?

The one that describes the responsibilities of the federal government,
not private citizens.

You jackasses. Someone complained to AIOE about the troll and they
banned all of AIOE from posting several months ago. I used to use that
as a back up.

If Eternal September does that, I and many others here will lose our
usenet access. Please keep ET out of this.

All of this "frogger" whining and gnashing of teeth is only amusing the
real troll. He's done well here.

I love pancakes and not always with syrup. I like a stack of 3 with
butter only for a snack.

Not as much as they used to. You have to find an old-style Cantonese
joint. I haven't seen them in 30 years, but I haven't gone to that kind
of place in about that much time. In any event, I think the proprietors
of those Chinese-American restaurants are dying off, and they made
sure their children because doctors, scientists, and engineers, so
you just don't see them around.

I've seen and tried canned corned beef once. It wasn't very good.
It's dog food but I doubt a dog would eat it either.
I've never seen a canned of it with cabbage.

Fresh cabbage is good though. Cheap and lasts a long time. It's good for
many dishes - even just adding to soup.

Oddly, to me - I really haven't listened to music often anywhere in the
past 25 years or so. That's the complete opposite of me long ago.

While driving, I liked the AM talk radio - both sides of the political
talks. At home, I don't listen to radio or other music much at all.

My cable subscription gives me 50 music channels but I rarely check them
out.

And here's proof that you don't have to live in a big city to spend
stupid money on a condo:

Could be tricky getting my husband's tools in. A tight fit for
three bandsaws, table saw, lathe, mill, a drill press or two,
etc. Currently fills a 20x40 building to the rafters, including
supplies of more kinds of materials than I could count.

Maybe a motor home and a tractor-trailer pulling one of those
big generators.

Salad with two hard-boiled eggs and some bacon, dressed with
balsamic vinaigrette. Bread drizzled with extra-virgin olive oil and
sprinkled with coarse salt.
