| US Janet <USJanet@jan6noplace.com>: Feb 01 11:39AM -0700 It turns out you can order in everything for a birthday I've gotten a bouquet. A birthday cake has been delivered. Cheesecake. Dinner will be ordered from my favorite Mexican restaurant. Already have the beer. We'll stream a movie later. Just like date night but we don't have to go out and get exposed to any virus flying around. Janet US |

I suspect it has a lot to do with preservatives. Gary's mix would probably start to lose it's edge after a few weeks, refrigerated or not. Be careful using that word around here. In Quebec 'preservatif' means 'condom'. |

Of course, the sugar, salt, and vinegar will all act to keep it from going bad. Or worse, anyway. Each store probably goes through it at a high enough rate that spoilage isn't a factor, provided they FIFO their stock. Cindy Hamilton |

And most of that crap probably wouldn't even be noticed if you left it out. My simple recipe above would be just fine and taste the same, I'll bet. I suspect the hired "food chemists" only do that to justify their job worth and probably decent salaries. -------------------------------------------------------------- |

I do prefer a good old-fashioned keyboard but the tablet appears to be the computer of choice for the youngest generation of computer users. That's what I see happening. I've never seen my granddaughter using a GOF'd keyboard. She uses a tablet exclusively. Getting rid of mouses, touch pads, and keyboards, seems to the the natural evolution of things. It doesn't really matter what the older generation prefers. |
