Carol, what does that even mean? You took a year off from some bread
group and when you came back you were blamed for another person who left
while you were gone? Blamed by whom? For what? As usual, I don't know
what you're talking about.

Ah, that makes sense. I'd like to visit that area some day. Maybe if I
still don't have my life together by this August (fairly likely) I'll
drop everything and leave from the Minnesota car meet to take that month
trip over to the west coast, down, over and back.

A few people here aren't totally nutty. Ed, Gary, and a couple of
others seem to be relatively stable. Oddly enough, very few women here
are "motherly" at all.

LOL, me too. The drainage ditch along my street became filled in
decades ago per a neighbor. Heavy rains makes for a damp basement. I'd
put that thing to work.

Might not want to go out side for a few days with that garlic breath.

Yes, it was. And you're absolutely right about Penzey's using their
customer email addresses and catalog mailing lists to start putting
forth their personal political agenda. There is no one forcing GM or
anyone else to buy anything Penzey's, either.

That's another source of income for these companies. I would never
download a company's "app", as that's a huge info grab/marketing tactic.
I don't care if there is free stuff, no thanks.

Haha, maybe. Either way, I have no interesting in spending too much
money at some specialty spice store. I'm fine with whatever the grocer
offers by the way of spices. I've got one of those fancy black pepper
grinders.

It very risky for companies to do stuff like that. Apparently it led to
increased sales for Penzey's. Another company lost a lot of business
after running a fundraiser for Trump. Nike took a hit when they
supported Colin Kapernick and a lot of people burned their shoes in
response, but later on things picked up.

Oh, Leo is getting better bundling fast food combo advice. Bundle, Leo!
I'm going to go out on a limb here and say a meal for two at a Las
Vegas McDonald's is slightly more expensive (heh) than what you and Gary
are used to. Location! For the same price, Leo did say he can get "the
cost of two reasonable beef tenderloins at the store. That's why I
generally cook at home." I'm thinking they'd rather have 2 beef
tenderloins cooked at home. He might make some fries to go with it and
make enough without worrying about how to divvy up the small and the
medium vs. the large order of fries with his wife. :)

I tell you what's nice and light, low in alcohol, and still
tastes good, is Founders *All Day*.
https://foundersbrewing.com/our-beer/all-day-ipa/
15 packs are about $15
I don't know that it's sweet.

Does that mean it's sweet but you don't know that?

I often use the word sweet. I use it to describe vegetables also. It
isn't about sugar sweet for me it is a natural, light flavor that
carries the flavor of the item. Does that make sense?

The funny thing is, that the sales of Corona beer dropped by a third at
the start of the pandemic, while other alcohol companies were up.
Consumers tend to be stupid. I don't watch cable TV, but in the break
room at work, I caught some of their huge advertising campaign, trying
to perk up sales in the early pandemic.

I hope that you have a happy birthday!
Dave Smith <adavid.smith@sympatico.ca>: Feb 01 06:41PM -0500

I am sitting here watching Jeopardy and the first commercial break an ad
for Coke Zero. There was a second, maybe a third commercial, I wasn't
paying close attention, and then there was a Pepsi commercial. I always
thought those guys went for exclusive deals.

Perhaps the producer couldn't taste any difference between them!

I can't speak to those stereotypes since I've never been in a Golden
Corral restaurant. The reported story I saw (different site, included
the video) does allow me to make a guess about the two customers who
allegedly started it before it turned into a melee. They probably don't
watch/read the news. If they did, they'd be aware of supply chain
issues. Not only in restaurants which, hey, mostly haven't been open
for the last 2 years due to Covid, but also in grocery stores. It's
perfectly conceivable a restaurant may run out of something. It's no
reason to start a brawl.

Fistfight at the Golden Corral.
