"Fresh" pineapples are pretty gross by the time they get up here. They are either under-ripe or already fermenting (sometimes both). I only buy them canned fresh. Had you of given me at least a 7 hour notice, I'd have made it on time. ;) It's a little late now, but yesterday, I was working on the spicy sausage/potato/kale soup. Sophia did not approve of the spicy sausage. This morning was biscuits and gravy, to use up a pound of breakfast sausage from the freezer, plus the last of my milk before it turned. I'm not sure what I'll have later, but I still have soup and left over pizza from the other day. |

I haven't done it in a while, so it might not come out great. Then again, I do basically the same thing for pizza dough, and that always comes out well. I keep the jar of yeast in the freezer. I'm getting pretty good at making home made biscuits (scones, for Bruce). I don't use a recipe, I just throw the stuff together, and it gets better every time. |

Your pancakes don't look raw, but they look very thick and dense. That's how my grandmother made them, and it reminds me of eating three of them and having an upset stomach. Enough oil in the skillet to practically deep-fry them. I'm with Ed; the rare time I make pancakes, I prefer thin/small. Crispy outside, fluffy inside, waffles are best. I don't cut the pancakes; when I make them for Sophia and I, I just quickly rip them up. Presentation fail, but it sure is quick and easy. |
