I find those from time to time and don't pay much mind to them. I just
flick them over the fence onto someone elses property.

I'll see your infinity ruler and raise you a girls ruler.

They were making and handing them out at an open house / steak out.

Looks like a moth chrysalis - perhaps a silk moth?

I would say some type of beetle pupa.
FAQ <faq007@rfc_faq.invalid>: Jul 02 03:20PM +0200

*** rec.food.cooking FAQ and conversion file ***
Maintained-by: Victor Sack <cooking.faq@mac.com>

LAST UPDATED 20 October, 2016

An easier-to-navigate frames version of the FAQ is available at
http://vsack.homepage.t-online.de/rfc_faq.html

For luddites, the no-frames version is
http://vsack.homepage.t-online.de/rfc_faq0.html

The rec.food.cooking FAQ and conversion file has two parts.

The first part covers conversion and equivalence. Tables are given
for conversion of oven temperatures, food names, weights and measures.
Some useful substitutions for unavailable ingredients are suggested.

The second part is more descriptive. It outlines some of the commonly
discussed topics of rec.food.cooking and explains a number of food
terms. It also lists other food-related newsgroups and mailing lists,
as well as food-related FAQs, recipe archives and other food/cooking
sites.

That caught my attention for sure, Ed. Since when are boiled peanuts
(no matter how they're spiced) an appetizer?

They email the menus. I haven't eaten at the club in several years.

Didn't they require that you spend a certain amount there
per month? I guess they got rid of that.

The mac salad was a lot better when it was made in house. That was
decades ago. Now it's pre made and comes in bags from who knows where.

I've always preferred my Garbage Plates with home fries and beans anyway.
Usually pork hots with everything plus heavy mustard and onions.

Franks Red Hot is always available in a dispenser. When I plan ahead I
stick a small bottle of Tapatio in my pocket.

HA! Rochester. You may think that your Garbage is the
trashiest of the trashy, but St. Louis has the trump card,
the St. Paul Sandwich.

That looks pretty good actually. Egg foo young fried with bean sprouts and
onion with mayo and lettuce on white bread. Not a fan of the white bread
though, if available toasted wheat would be my choice.

I've been off work for a while in between jobs (staycation) and have had
time to work on our bucket list. There's rather large and vibrant Muslim
community outside of Buffalo NY in Lackawanna. Probably is not a better
place in the area to find Mediterranean food. We hit up a takeout shop
there and left with a Falafel wrap, Lamb Ghallaba, Chicken Shawarma and
enjoyed it in the park across the street. My wife is a bit skittish about
trying new things, she has it stuck in her head that everything is spicy,
but she was quite the trooper that day. Now she wants to go back, it was
all delish.

Mission is to find out how the food is made and served at Mediterranean
restaurants before attempting to make it at home. And according to my
bigoted parents, try to not get blown up by Muslims in the process.

It would not be "available." The Chinaman at the takee-outee would
think you very odd for suggesting it. My god, man, if you ever pass
through St. Louis, I'll happily buy you a St. Paul Sandwich just to see
you eat it. I'd have to be starving.

I'm not great at omelets. Sure, they taste great, but they don't always have the structure that they should have, and are some ways on the continuum to being scrambled eggs with cheese. This one turned out nice. A pre-hiking breakfast for my sweetheart. I'm having a good knee day today, so we're going on a little prairie hike.

My breakfast was earlier, leftover pork steaks, slow grilled over cherry wood.

I am good at reading people too. The question is, are they worth reading?
Some are, some aren't. I've got you pegged but I won't go into it. Let's just
say you're a rather smug arrogant know-it-all with the occasional tendency
to seem like a nice enough guy. But I can't trust you. You're dangerous.

A friend of mine is a top-rated lawyer, with a 6-figure income. Her
husband, recently retired, was a school teacher, which meant he was
there for their children after school and during vacation/holiday times.
It worked well for all of them.

May I ask where you sourced the pork jowl? I checked the two meat

some of us like regular meaningful exercise and gardening
is much more pleasant and interesting than working out a
gym. the only thing i'd like to improve upon is deer fences
and the chipmunk population.

50-300 leg bends and squats each gardening day is pretty
good for both my legs and my lower back.

some days if there is enough room i have a ground pillow
(which is not like ground beef) to sit on and will use that
instead, it's for more slow moving tasks and where i will
enjoy a while of contemplating things from a closer
perspective. the pillow also comes in handy for kneeling
and saving the knees.

We change the pre-filter every month, and the MERV 8 filter about twice
a year. We check the MERV filter every time we change the pre-filter.
